Loneliness is more than just an emotional experience — it's a public health issue that affects millions across the UK. According to the British Red Cross, over 9 million people in the UK report feeling lonely often or always. This epidemic is not only emotionally taxing but also has serious health implications. Research shows that #loneliness can be as damaging to our health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day. In our interconnected digital age, it might seem paradoxical that loneliness is so prevalent. Yet, the statistics are staggering. In the UK: 🔸 63% of young adults (aged 18-34) feel lonely often or always. 🔸 1 in 5 people say they feel lonely some or all of the time. 🔸 3 in 4 older adults (aged 75 ) say they are lonely. (Source: https://lnkd.in/e75pzV46) At Togetherall, we’re rooted in human connection – the antithesis of loneliness. By fostering genuine connections, we're working to combat this loneliness epidemic, one conversation at a time. ✨The power of population-level mental health care ✨ The World Health Organization (WHO) declared that prevention and early treatment of mental health problems in university students is a key public health priority because university students are the future social capital of society (Cuijpers et al., 2021, p 2) Using a #populationapproach for university #mentalhealth care, like Togetherall, acts as an early intervention tool and reaches students who wouldn’t typically seek help. It’s a cost-effective solution for administrations while providing students with 24/7/365 access to mental health support. With round-the-clock safeguarding from licensed mental health practitioners, the service is self-sustaining and ensures complete safety, meaning a low lift for administrators and counselling personnel. 👉 Read our blogpost by psychologist James Lyda, Ph.D., as he delves into the benefits of population approach for early intervention: https://lnkd.in/ez82-xQj #earlyintervention #digitalpeersupport #digitalmentalhealth

🕶 The summer months can bring unique challenges and feelings of #isolation for #students on break from #university. University life provides a built-in #community and going home can sometimes feel like a jolt to the system. ⛅ Togetherall’s #digitalpeersupport is there for students 24/7/365, meaning they can still access the support they need whenever and wherever they need it – on campus or thousands of miles away, with the safeguarding of round-the-clock clinical oversight. Feelings of stress, anxiety, and depression don’t take a summer break, and neither does the support students need to access in-the-moment. Togetherall is here to ensure students don’t feel alone during the summer months. 💡 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/effvDrgs #mentalhealth #digitalmentalhealth #studentmentalhealth

🚨 NEW COLLABORATION 🚨 We are thrilled to welcome the University of Regina to the Togetherall community! U of R’s nearly 17,000 students can now access digital peer support 24/7/365, with the safeguarding of clinical moderation around-the-clock. Jenny Keller, Ph.D., R.D., Psych, Clinician and Manager of Student Mental Health at the University of Regina and her team have worked to put a #SteppedCare model in place when it comes to the mental health and wellbeing of the University’s students. Stepped care is a system of delivering and monitoring mental health treatment so the most effective, yet least resource-intensive treatment, is delivered first. The missing “step” was digital peer support, and U of R chose Togetherall to fill the gap in their services. Dr. Keller said, “Togetherall supports student autonomy in finding support ‘at the right time’ and in the preferred format,” which is a hallmark of Togetherall’s service: the member takes control of their own mental health journey. 👉 Read more about our new collaboration: https://lnkd.in/eV-mqqYd
