📣 Applications are now open for our inaugural diversity access programme, Beyond.   This new programme gives students from ethnically diverse backgrounds first-hand access to legal professionals, a work placement, and the opportunity to develop their soft skills – all while being considered for a training contract.   Running parallel to our current vacation scheme applications, Beyond will run in Bristol, Manchester and Scotland, with applications open from now until January 2025.   Those successful in gaining a place on the programme will be assigned a mentor, a trainee buddy, as well as attend a range of learning and development sessions, and then join our vacation scheme in their chosen location. 🤝We have advised leading property finance lender Assetz Capital on a £9m development finance deal. 🏠The deal will allow for the development of a residential scheme with 84 serviced apartments on Dublin Road in Belfast. 🤝We have advised 76-year-old construction company Robert P Slight & Sons on its sale to an employee ownership trust (EOT).  🏛️The Slight family has ties to globally-recognised landmarks including the United States Congressional Building on Capitol Hill, especially its famous dome, and Bell Rock Lighthouse, the world’s oldest surviving sea-washed lighthouse. Our corporate team advised the company on the sale to an employee ownership trust in a way that would allow the business to maintain its unique culture and historical heritage.
