Glasgow Royal Hospital for Children never ceases to amaze us! On our recent visit, we had the pleasure of delivering two Xbox Series S Gaming Carts to Michael and Nikki in the Ambulatory Day Care Unit 🎮 Thank you to Nurse Michael (pictured left) and his family, who worked so hard to raise funds for these Gaming Carts. We are very grateful! 💙 Steven (pictured right) is the hospital's first Gamer-in-Residence, which is literally the coolest job ever. Steven's role within Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity is not just about playing games; it's about bringing joy and a sense of normalcy to the patients' lives. His dedication to interacting and gaming with patients across the hospital and maintaining/updating any gaming technology is truly commendable 👏 We fully support this initiative and are always so inspired by the innovation at Glasgow Children's. It was a delight to finally meet Lucy at Birmingham Children's Hospital! A visit to Bristol Royal Hospital for Children to deliver an Xbox Series S Cart for Children's A&E! This one was funded by Barney Thomas 🎮 Barney, a true inspiration, was born with two holes in his heart and underwent life-saving surgery at Bristol Children's before his first birthday. Today, he lives a normal and happy life, a testament to the hospital's incredible work. In a heartwarming gesture, he's been giving back by raising funds for toys and electronics, bringing joy to children and their parents/guardians at the hospital 💙 During the festive period of 2023, Barney went on a 'Midnight March' around the streets of London, starting the walk from London Paddington Station at 6 PM and finishing at 6 AM the following day. So far, he's raised over £7,000, and this is the second Gaming Cart he's funded! 🎉 We owe the most enormous thank you to Barney, his Dad Darren, and his Godfather Bradley for their impressive work. We recently delivered two very special Gaming Carts in memory of gaming lover Layton (14), who was diagnosed with mitochondrial disease and sadly passed away in December 2014 💔 Friday 10th May would have marked Layton's 18th Birthday, a day his family wanted to celebrate with joy and reflection. By hosting various fundraising events, they donated two gaming carts to the hospitals that supported Layton the most during his final days/hours 💙 Our first trip was to Royal Albert Edward Infirmary, Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust, where we handed over an Xbox Series S Gaming Cart for the children and young people on Rainbow Ward 🌈 We are deeply grateful to James Bancroft MSyI, Michelle Bancroft Bsc PGDpCG PGDE and their family for allowing us to participate in this significant event.
