Come on Eileen.....
Many thanks to everyone for your support and sponsorship for the Deputy Master’s Consort Eileen Bigg. She was one of fifteen brave volunteer flyers from the Glovers and other Livery companies who took to the air on a 1942 Boeing Stearman bi-plane and wing-walked at the old Royal Flying Corps Rendcomb Airfield in the Cotswolds. The day was in aid of the Prosthetic Hands Project to provide prosthetics to children and adults with upper limb differences. The bionic arms are an amazing way forward, particularly for children and are literally life changing. If you have not yet contributed the link to the Just Giving page is https://lnkd.in/dC_j9V-C The link will remain open for a few more weeks. Thank you for your support.

On 15 July the Master presented the Lord Mayor, Alderman Michael Mainelli, with a jug of Thames Water, as a reminder of the value of water to the City of London. On 14 July 1197, King Richard 1, in order to improve his liquidity, sold the Conservancy of the River Thames to the Corporation of London for the sum of 1500 marks. Each year the Master, accompanied by the Wardens, of the Worshipful Company of Water Conservators, presents the Lord Mayor with a jug of Thames Water (drawn from a tap) to mark the occasion.

All in a good cause!
Thank you to all my sponsors and supporters for my abseil down The Leadenhall Building "The Cheesegrater". It was an amazing experience. If you would like to contribute to my abseil for the Lord Mayor’s Appeal my justgiving page is https://lnkd.in/gfSfy-Es

Very interesting to see the engineering and new land being created from this project to create a better environment for London.
Thanks to Thames Tideway for the guided tour for members of the Company to see the sites where the new 25km Super Sewer is being built to intercept the millions of tonnes of raw sewage that overflow into the Thames each year. We saw how it connects with a system built 150 years ago for a city half its current size. With all the debate about investment in the water sector at the moment, it is encouraging to see an investment being delivered and improving the environment.

Thanks for a great send off.
Tudor Pull 19 May 2024 The Duty Manager of Hampton Court, Master Water Conservator and Master Watermen and Lightermen welcome the King's Bargemaster and Royal Watermen. They are requested to take responsibility for and deliver the Stela to the Tower of London, under oars on this tide, that all will recognise the importance of our great river. After a blessing of the river the Choristers of HM Chapel Royal sang Psalm 150.

Learning points for other public sectors including water.
Thank you to the Worshipful Company of Carmen for your 'Transport Talking Aloud’ event. Super presentations from Siddy Holloway (pictured), Leon Daniels and Louise Cheeseman. Challenging male dominance in the bus and coach sector, driving changes in operation and investment, and building partnerships with schools, public and at work.
