The Toy Appeal

In order to give our hardworking volunteer teams a much needed summer break, The Toy Appeal will be closed and out of office until September. We will be unable to accept any books, teddies or toy donations during this time. Our volunteer days will also now be on hold until September. For the schools, social workers etc, please continue to send in your completed request forms for Christmas toy sacks as per the email instructions. A couple of weeks ago we were thrilled to have a wonderful team of volunteers join us, this time from Softcat plc alongside a few of our regular volunteers. Yesterday the first ever The Toy Appeal Golf Tournament ⛳️ took place at Ringway Golf Club. This fantastic event was arranged by Shawston International Ltd to raise funds to help support us on our mission to continue to provide toys to disadvantaged children at Christmas. Despite the rain, the day was a runaway success raising an amazing £28,000 in total! This will enable us to provide the gift of Christmas to a further 1,220 children later this year. We are beyond grateful for the amazing support from the team at Shawston and everyone involved who took part and enjoyed the day. Yesterday was spent sorting and checking books at the Elves House with Janet and Elaine. Any books we receive have to be checked for condition (making sure no scribbles, missing pages etc) and sorted into age appropriate order. It can be a time consuming job - so we are grateful to them both for their time and support!

We were thrilled to have Knutsford Rotary Club join us today to wrap over 200 presents in readiness for this Christmas! She did it! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. We are super proud of the lovely Clare Murray who completed the Manchester Marathon yesterday to raise funds for The Toy Appeal. Clare has single handedly raised a whopping £1500 and counting - enough to provide 60 toy sacks later this year. Clare trained so hard for this event and we are hugely grateful for her support.
