The fund, which was officially announced by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for the Economy Kate Forbes MSP at the #NationalRobotarium in May, has been created to support innovative new companies, grow female entrepreneurship in Scotland, and stimulate economic growth. A robotically literate NHS could be a driver of economic development in the UK and place our health service at the global forefront. By being an informed customer, the NHS could enable it's suppliers to understand, build and maintain robotics to assist NHS workers and users. A whole manufacturing and supply chain, staffed by trained workers, would emerge around a robotics-enabled health service, providing quality jobs and private investment.
