The Lord Mayor's Appeal supports each Lord Mayor of the City of London to raise funds for the Appeal's chosen charity partners. The Lord Mayor’s Appeal continues its partnership with our four charities, each a leading expert in addressing social issues and together we are delivering pioneering programmes for change. We have helped Place2Be train Mental Health Champions for over 180 schools in London and currently is funding Place2Think sessions giving staff a place to reflect with a Place2Be practitioner. OnSide Youth Zones have opened three new Youth Zones – Future in Barking & Dagenham, Unitas in Barnet and Legacy in Croydon and we continue to support their work in each of these Youth Zones supporting the young people of London. Through our partnership with Samaritans under the healthy pillar, we have reached over 25,000 people with the Wellbeing in the Workplace tool, an online training in which businesses upskill their employees in having conversations about mental health as well as supporting their London City Hub. With The Lord Mayor’s Appeal’s support, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award will aim to reach 10,000 more young people who are from disadvantaged backgrounds with recent funding supporting these young people with their participation fee.

It will seek to reduce the waiting times, focus on prevention and improve mental health provision for young people. Today we brought together partners from all over the six flagship #Homewards locations to celebrate one year of progress. Over the past 12 months, we have built the foundations to generate systems change. We've brought together hundreds of organisations and individuals to form six local Coalitions and formed unprecedented partnerships to support our flagship locations to identify priorities and move to focus on prevention. Prince William and The Royal Foundation founded Homewards to demonstrate that it is possible to end homelessness, making it rare, brief & unrepeated. We’re excited to announce that Homewards, The Royal Foundation’s programme which aims to demonstrate that it is possible to end homelessness, is to be the subject of an exclusive two-part ITV documentary this autumn. The documentary will provide a behind-the-scenes look at Homewards’ first 12 months. It will follow Prince William as he launches Homewards across the country as well as the journeys of those currently facing homelessness or who have lived experience of it. In addition, Homewards are delighted to be working with the Saatchi Gallery & Eleven Eleven Foundation to create ‘Homelessness: Reframed’, an art exhibition launching this summer. The exhibition will feature exceptional works from artists inspired by their own or others experiences of homelessness. It will open on Wednesday 7th August and run for six weeks.
