A new report from the Royal Academy of Engineering's National Engineering Policy Centre (NEPC) highlights that a radical approach is required from government to drive the major infrastructure and system transformation needed to decarbonise the GB electricity system and provide clean power by 2030. It also suggests changes to a future energy system that, although they cannot be delivered before 2030, will still require action this decade.
