The Foundation is excited to be establishing a research portfolio on the Impact of Digital Technology on Brain Development, Social Behaviours and Mental Health in Young People. We plan to issue an open call for multi-year research proposals in early 2025. The Huo Family Foundation is delighted to announce its plan for a major investment in a new research initiative focused on understanding the impact of digital technology on brain development, on social interactions and behaviours, and on mental health in young people. This programme aims to support the best scientific research in this domain as well as to train the next generation of exceptional scientists in this rapidly evolving field. Dr. Gary Wilson, former Head of the Science Portfolio at the Gatsby Charitable Foundation, has been appointed as the Director of Research. He will work closely with Professor Paul Elliott of Imperial College London, who is overseeing the programme in an advisory role.
