Our Company: The Glenmorangie Company is one of the prestigious companies owned by Moët Hennessy-Louis Vuitton (LVMH). It is home to Glenmorangie Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky and Ardbeg Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, two of the world’s most respected whisky brands. The Company has its global headquarters in central Edinburgh, with further offices and a state-of the-art bottling facility in nearby Livingston, West Lothian. The business employs over 300 people across its six locations and is proud to have been awarded the Platinum Award by Investors in People.     Glenmorangie Dr Bill Lumsden x Azuma Makoto 23 Years Old was launched at the prestigious Saatchi Gallery in London a few weeks ago. Guests joined Dr Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie’s Director of Whisky Creation, and Azuma Makoto, Japanese botanical artist, to try this extraordinarily rare 23-year-old single malt which pays homage to everything found in nature, from the soil to the sky – a concept in Japanese known as ‘shinra bansho’. Azuma re-created his living masterpiece, Shinra Bansho, which adorns the whisky’s packaging and features many of the single malt’s tasting notes, incorporating flora and fauna from delicate orchids and juicy blackberries to forest-floor moss and woody tree bark. Cocktails and canapés were enjoyed as guests were encouraged to touch and smell the botanical sculpture as they tasted the whisky, helping to bring all its flavours to life.     Glenmorangie’s delicious and wonderful world was brought to life with Rivaayat’s three-city celebration series which brings together art, culture and – of course – Glenmorangie’s single malt Scotch whisky. Through Glenmorangie’s collaboration with design mavericks, SHIVAN & NARRESH, the Delicious Living series aims to elevate at-home celebrations. Rivayaat features a selection of homeware designs from the collection, including the Infinity Swirl, transforming everyday moments into unforgettable memories. Lavish and intimate events were held in Kolkata and in the Kathiwada City House in Mumbai showcasing Shivan and Narresh’s beautiful designs along with Glenmorangie’s single malt. Planning for the third and final extravaganza is in progress and promises to be just as delicious.     Last weekend, The Glenmorangie Company joined the Edinburgh 2024 Pride march, Scotland’s longest running celebration of diversity, in support of the LGBTQIA community. Team members joined thousands of others marching through the streets of Edinburgh to support equal rights for everyone and to call out discrimination. Glenmorangie Business Development Director, Derek Ruediger, said: “One of the things that makes me most proud to work at The Glenmorangie Company is our commitment to creating a culture where every person is valued and respected for who they are.     Dr Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie’s Director of Whisky Creation, and Azuma Makoto, Japanese botanical artist, are long-time collaborators and kindred spirits. Some time ago, during a walk in the Highlands, Azuma shared with Dr Bill the notion of ‘shinra bansho’, which embraces the ground, the sky and everything in between. And together they imagined how they might collaborate to create a uniquely delicious single malt which celebrates nature in all its forms. Dr Bill then began to envision a whisky entwining Glenmorangie’s floral side with the underground world which brings all plants to life. Glenmorangie Dr Bill Lumsden x Azuma Makoto 23 Years Old is an extraordinarily rare single malt finished in casks which once held Chardonnay white wine from Burgundy, creating notes of lemon balsam, poached pears and cocoa powder layered on the oaky, earthy tones of the forest floor. In his Tokyo studio, Azuma drew on the whisky’s flavours to create his own masterpiece. Gathering orchids, roses and countless wild flowers, he skilfully wove them through tree bark, roots and moss. His complex, flowing botanical sculpture, named Shinra Bansho, is Azuma’s own tribute to nature’s evolving harmonies, and is reflected on the whisky’s packaging. This delicious, elemental limited edition will be available on glenmorangie.com, at Glenmorangie’s inaugural boutique at London’s Heathrow airport, Terminal 2, as well as select retailers including Selfridge's, Harvey Nichols and Berry Bros. & Rudd.     Did you know that our stills at Glenmorangie Distillery are the height of an adult male giraffe? This #WorldGiraffeDay we are celebrating the world’s tallest animal and the longest day of the year. We are now in our fourth year of working together with The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland and the GIRAFFE CONSERVATION FOUNDATION to protect these majestic animals. The partnership aims to increase awareness of this threatened species, raise funds for the vital work that protects it, restore giraffe populations, support staff training initiatives, conservation monitoring, as well as translocation of giraffe populations.     "I’m a huge fan of mythology and as soon as I heard the legend of Corryvreckan, I just knew I wanted to reflect The Abyss’s mysterious depths through the story of Prince Breacan”, says Tradd Moore, acclaimed comic book author and artist. He continues, “On his own journey into mystery, he sees the abyss, enters the unknown and is swept up and surprised by what he finds…” To celebrate the release of Ardbeg The Abyss – a rare 34-year-old single malt featuring casks from the heart of the original Ardbeg Corryvreckan limited edition – Tradd has drawn his readers into a parallel world inspired by the legend of the Corryvreckan whirlpool where prince Breacan travels through space and time to emerge reborn on Planet Ardbeg. In celebration of the Ardbeg Corryvreckan’s role in the distillery’s liquid history, 1000 limited-edition bottles of core range Corryvreckan are being released, featuring a label design by Tradd Moore. Four individuals designs will be available, each taken from a frame featured in The Abyss’s graphic novel.     We have partnered with renowned Japanese botanical artist Azuma Makoto to create a masterpiece inspired by the complex tasting notes of our Highland single malt, shown exclusively at Saatchi Gallery London on 24th and 25th June. In collaboration with Master Distiller Dr Bill Lumsden, Azuma Makoto has created a botanical sculpture – entitled Shinra Bansho – which is an homage to their shared love of the natural world. Featuring orchids, roses and wildflowers alongside tree bark, roots and moss, this intricate, flowing artwork will be on show for just 24 hours. During a bespoke late-night session at the historic gallery on Monday 24 June, guests can enjoy whisky cocktails and canapés with a botanical twist, alongside an insight into his inspiration from the artist.
