Investing in Nature

About us

The First Thirty (TFT) Ventures is dedicated to unlocking the economic value of nature. At TFT, we recognise that the FIRST THIRTY cm or the "top layer" of soil is the world’s most undervalued asset. This vital resource underpins economic productivity and prosperity, yet conventional investment strategies have contributed to its decline. Industries that rely on the health of soil will be at the forefront of this disruption; the first thirty cm is where we focus. Our Vision: Nature becomes the most valuable asset class, transforming economic opportunities on a global scale. Our Mission: We invest in early-stage entrepreneurs who leverage cutting-edge technology to unlock the full value of nature. Our focus ensures that these investments yield substantial economic returns and enhance ecological productivity. Our Strategy: i) Early Support in a Critical Gap: Recognising the opacity and challenges of early-stage funding, especially in the complex field of nature and technology, we strategically invest from pre-seed to seed stages. We follow on and support outperformers through to growth. ii) Team Expertise: Our fund management team, consisting of experienced operators in the early stage, provides active support to our portfolio companies, guiding them from startup to scale. ii) Scalable Solutions: We prioritise investments in technologies that can fundamentally shift how industries interact with the environment, aiming for a wide-reaching impact. Returns with Impact: At TFT, we are dedicated to regenerating 30 million hectares by 2030, leading the shift from extractive to regenerative capital flows. Our strategy is designed to achieve significant economic returns while ensuring enduring environmental resilience.
