It is with IMMENSE excitement that we release our festival documentary, ‘It Takes A Village’, into the world (absolute scenes 🎥 !!!) Our production team were followed around on site at a wide range of events over the season of 2023. And, from lighting strikes to rail strikes, it was a summer filled with challenges… But these challenges are exactly what we wanted to highlight in this short film. As an industry, we all work tirelessly to bring these events to life, something which we should be celebrating more often. We hope that shining a light on our amazing industry will show exactly why the festival sector not only deserves more support, but needs it – now more than ever. Special thanks to all the promoters, suppliers, crew, contractors, artists, staff, freelancers, councils, local authorities and audience members who make these incredible events happen (it really does take a village to build a festival!) Please share this wonderful doc with loved ones and spread the word, to keep festivals thriving: https://lnkd.in/envgeHcV Love always, The Fair x #festivals #events #production #eventsindustry #eventsmatter

Whether it be DJing at Glastonbury, creating her own documentaries, or hanging out with heroes (Led Zeppelin, Mick Fleetwood and Sir Paul McCartney to name a few) music journalist, broadcaster and DJ Georgie Rogers has had a wildly exciting career in the industry so far... Over 15 years, she became a known voice to listeners of BBC Radio 6 - who enjoyed her interviews and investigative pieces with some of the biggest names in music. Tomorrow, she joins us on FairPlay, where we'll hear the five songs which define her journey through music, festivals and events so far - with lots of fun chats and industry ☕ along the way. 📻 CHANNEL 2, AAJA Radio, 9-10pm: https://lnkd.in/eur8xdCz DON'T MISS IT 😎 #radio #festivals #music #culture #eventprofs #podcast

The power of festivals for emerging artists is simply undeniable 👇 Our campaign, #yourfestivalneedsyou, celebrates independent festivals in a bid to gather vital support. We urge everybody to get involved with the campaign - supporting independent events, sharing their own love for festivals with a video and continuing to support everything festivals provide 🚀 #festivals #events #artists #music #culture

A reminder of the power of festivals for emerging artists 💪. … Concerningly though, according to data released by the AIF earlier this year, the UK's independent festival sector experienced a staggering 90% drop in revenue from 2019 to 2021. This significant decline has left many festivals grappling with financial instability, with a concerning number facing the prospect of permanent closure. In this study carried out by AIF in the first half of 2023 shows there were 600 music festivals held in the UK in 2019, but only 482 took place in 2023. The 19.7% decline includes festivals that disappeared during the pandemic and those which tried to return in 2022 but either failed in 2022 or took place but did not make it through to 2023. In light of these alarming statistics, the AIF is still advocating for a VAT reduction on festival tickets from the current rate of 20% to a more sustainable level of 5%. Such a reduction, the organisation argues, would provide vital financial relief to festival organisers and make events more accessible to attendees. The ‘5% For Festivals’ campaign is an awareness strategy that seeks to inform festival-goers about the problems that music festival promoters have faced over the last five years. It urges you all to contact your MPs to lobby for a much needed VAT reduction on tickets, check out this link for support in doing this: https://lnkd.in/e_-cdn6u #music #musicfestivals #fivepercentforfestivals #AIF

A lot of people still don't realise the true value of live events. That's OK, because UK Music Ltd's latest report gave us an insight into its impact in 2023... 🎪 19.2 million music fans travelled from across the UK and overseas to see UK shows and festivals (33% increase on the year prior) 🎪 £8 billion spent in local economies as a result of music tourism (21% increase on the year prior) 🎪 62,000 jobs sustained through music tourism (17% increase on the year prior) 🎪 1.014 million foreign music tourists (a slight drop from 1.053 million in the year prior) 🎪 18.2 million domestic music tourists (36% increase on the year prior) And that's just the economic benefits of our industry - think about the benefits to people, places, societies and communities. Despite positive impacts, UK Music CEO Tom Kiehl states: “Grassroots music venues and festivals, studios and rehearsal spaces are facing tough economic pressures and it’s vital that the music ecosystem that enables musicians and artists to perform is supported to ensure that everyone – no matter where they live – can have access to music. “We’re looking forward to working with the new Government to ensure that all our towns and cities have thriving music ecosystems that support the growth of the industry – generating thousands more jobs, boosting economic growth and making their areas even more attractive to visitors.” #grassroots #festivals #events #musicindustry #yourfestivalneedsyou 📸 BLOND:ISH at Labryinth Open Air, Tofte Manor - captured by Jake Philip Davis, produced by The Fair

July has been busy....Here’s a quick look at what we’ve been up to: The Fair produced multiple shows Tofte Manor with artists like Fat Boy Slim, Annie Mac, and program curators, Jungle for Labyrinth Events. RecFest UK UK at Knebworth Park, in its second year with us, showcased the best festivalisation of B2B events is the way forward for customer engagement. We’re excited for the US instalment in Nashville this September. In Mayfair, We Are Placemaking launched the Team GB Olympic Fanzone, one of nine official GB fanzones, at Grosvenor Square. They also worked with the Italian Embassy for Festa Della Repubblica in Grosvenor Square, featuring The Orchestra of the State Conservatory of Music. For London Heritage Quarter, We Are Placemaking crafted the ‘Journey Through Time’ Trail. This fun art installation is a free city experience running until August 4th. We Are Ops supported the Cambridge Folk Festival, which achieved the highest AGF certification in 2023 for sustainability. They also supported TRO’s activations for BMW, Mini, and Genesis at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. In Bristol, we handled safety at the mighty Ashton Gate Stadium for back-to-back shows featuring Ne-Yo, Jess Glynne, Stefflon Don, Dizzee Rascal, Holly Humberstone, The Vaccines, and Kings of Leon. It was a pleasure to work with Full Fat 360 who manage the events. Celebrating these achievements is all credit to the team on their best game at the height of the season. Roll on August... Festival production largely comes down to two things: innovation and collaboration. The Labyrinth shows at Tofte Manor were a great example of this, and it was a pleasure to work with the incredible team to bring these events to life at the outstanding, open-air sanctuary, Tofte Manor. Adriatique, Fatboy Slim and Jungle headlined the events, with Annie Mac, Ahadadream, Ame and Blond:ish amongst a selection of other artists to grace the stage. Returning to this site was super special, and working with the Labyrinth team to produce these events was a real treat, as well as our colleagues at We Are OPS. We look forward to continuing our collaboration, helping Labyrinth bring future visions to life 🙌 #festivals #events #eventproduction #festivalseason #music #culture

These new images from our recent production of 'On The Mount' at Wasing, in collaboration with Senbla, truly capture the essence of summer. Thanks to the dedication of The Fair production team, We Are OPS safety team, suppliers, and crew, guests enjoyed amazing performances from Crowded House, Paolo Nutini, Nick Mulvey, Jungle, and Underworld in an open-air amphitheatre in Berkshire. If you haven't got to an outdoor gig or festival yet there's some brilliant shows ahead to choose from..... 🕺 #events #production #festivalseason #live #gigs
