📢 The new Government must listen to the leaders of tomorrow. Our Youth Voices research involved over 3,000 14-24 year olds from across the UK, seeking their views on the issues that matter most to them politically and personally. Our new Government has an unmissable opportunity to make sure young people are heard, by introducing a clear process to involve youth voices in every level of policy and decision-making. We’ve recently attended the Labour, Liberal Democrats and Conservative Party Conferences 🙌 Our Youth Ambassadors had the chance to make their voices heard and spoke with MPs, Ministers and Shadow Ministers over the three events 🎤 Our recent research shows that young people feel overwhelmed by the transition to adulthood and expect more support to prepare them for the future. They also feel they are listened to the least in society – just 22% of 14–24-year-olds agreed with the phrase ‘politicians in the UK listen to people of my age.’ Youth voices must be at the forefront of policy and decision-making ✅ If you would like to see more, click the links below to see live streams of the Youth Reception and our CEO on a panel discussion🎙 🔗 https://bit.ly/3BuNMuF 🔗 https://bit.ly/4dt98Gh #ListenToYouth

🎊 We’re delighted to be celebrating 25 years of the Joint Award Initiative (JAI) – a pioneering partnership between the DofE, The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Foundation and Gaisce - The President's Award. To celebrate this incredible milestone, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh visited Northern Ireland and met with young people who are completing their Award. It’s been a couple of days to remember 💜 Read more about the visit: https://lnkd.in/e2b3rPU9 #JAI25

October is #BlackHistoryMonth – an opportunity to celebrate, recognise and understand the contributions of black people to British society. This year’s theme – ‘Reclaiming Narratives’ – honours black heroes while challenging the narratives that have often overlooked the contributions and achievements of black individuals throughout history. DofE exists to help young people build a lifelong belief in themselves. That begins with being included, accepted and celebrated for who they are 💜 #ReclaimingNarratives

We invited two Youth Ambassadors from The Duke of Edinburgh's Award to share their personal experiences of participating in the award. Huda, a student who was inspired by her older sister’s experiences of DofE, and Rich, an army cadet on a journey of self-improvement, explain what’s involved and the benefits of participating on your wellbeing. This is an honest and open chat from two inspirational young people wanting to share their story and help others experience the multitude of opportunities available with the award. You can listen to the full episode on The Wellbeing Hub today 💙 #DofE #YouthWithoutLimits #TheWellbeingHub

🥇 Congratulations to our Youth Ambassadors, Kalina, Tolu, Megan, James and Evan who took part in the Vitality London 10,000 at the weekend to fundraise for us 🙌 Despite challenging conditions they all managed to complete the race in under 1 hour 15 minutes and have raised over £800 in support of the DofE – giving more young people the chance to transform their lives through the Award. If you or your organisation would like to take in your own challenge for the DofE, we have lots more exciting events you can take part in including: 📌 London Landmarks Half Marathon 🌊 Brighton Marathon 2025 Click here to get involved 💪 https://lnkd.in/eRppFnPD

Thank you to Abi, a The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Youth Ambassador, for sharing her thoughts on what the Government should change to support children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities - including forming more school places, increasing awareness and career support. #100Voices
