Absolutely loved these thoughts from Helen Mannion on AI and it's impact not just in data but across all industries. This isn’t just relevant to people working in data - it's relevant to anyone interacting with AI. According to a McKinsey report, 65% of organisations have integrated AI into at least one business function. So, what does this mean for all of us? As Helen states, we are experiencing a knowledge evolution. It’s no longer about memorising everything; it’s about adaptability and applying the right information at the right time. As AI continues to evolve, it's the human habits, how we think, behave, and continuously develop, that will set us apart. In the end, it's our ability to merge technical expertise with soft skills that will define future leadership. What do you think about the balance between human and technical skills in the AI era? Do you have any thoughts to add to this? #AI #DataJobs #DataIQ

    • We are experiencing a knowledge evolution. Historically, acquiring information was challenging, often relying on word of mouth or reading books. Today, information is easily accessible in various formats, making knowledge acquisition straightforward.

What will truly set us apart now is our mindset—how we think and behave. As AI continues to advance, learning will become even easier. Consider how many skills we learned in school that we no longer remember; this is not a problem. With the internet and AI at our disposal, we can easily find the information we need.

We no longer have to memorize everything; instead, we must adapt and acquire the information relevant to us at any moment. Ultimately, how we apply that knowledge in how we consistently show up will differentiate us in the future—it's the human habits that take time and practice to develop that will matter most.

As always, I have one ear to the ground when it comes to emerging data roles.  Could these data roles be the next big thing?  Here’s my take on them: 1️⃣ Data Storyteller: Can you turn raw data into a narrative that actually resonates? 2️⃣ Behavioral Psychologist: Do you get why people make the choices they do? 3️⃣ Data Ethicist: Are you the conscience in a world of endless data collection? 4️⃣ Data Curator: Can you organise chaos into something meaningful? According to the World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs 2023 report, the demand for data analysts, scientists, engineers, BI analysts, and other big data and database professionals is projected to grow by 30-35% by 2027. 😯 Are one of these job titles yours? I’d love to chat if so - my DM’s are open! #DataJobs #DataManagement #DataRecruitment

Did you know that globally, nearly 65% of people above retirement age without any regular pension are women? And in 2023, the proportion of women in senior and middle management positions was lower than 35 per cent in half of the world’s countries. Today is International Equal Pay Day, a day to reflect and bring attention to the pay gap that exists. And in Data Talent Scout style, it wouldn’t be right to mention this day without highlighting the equal pay gaps that exist within the Data industry. According to the International Labor Organization, over 80% of countries had a gender pay gap of at least 5% for science and engineering professionals and health professionals. It is quite scary, isn’t it? It’s 2024, and we need equal rights. #EqualPayDay #EqualPay

August is gone, and summer is very nearly over. 🥲 But even though summer is typically a slower time, I’ve really enjoyed being busier. With a ton of work on my plate, it feels like the market is finally waking up. 😄 August saw me spend a fair few evenings organising an exec dinner in London, which I’m very much looking forward to 🍾 Finally, this photo is me in a reflective mood having just helped scatter my Aussie dad's ashes from a boat off Queensland. It was a wonderful time spent celebrating his life and an experience I’ll never forget. #MonthlyHighlights #August #SummersOver

Is the market finally starting to turn a corner? 🤔 The Recruitment & Employment Confederation is pointing to a surge in permanent hiring intentions among London employers. Could this be the signal that the rest of the country is ready to follow suit? And with inflation easing up, it seems like the UK's recession might be showing signs of a recovery. Data professionals — are your organisations seeing a shift in momentum? Is it starting to feel like things might be turning for the better? #MarketTrends #DataTrends
