  • Last month, we were honoured to host our first-ever Trainer Awards. ✨ We celebrated the achievements of 4 CLCs (Carbon Literacy Consultants) and CLTOs (Carbon Literacy Training Organisations) who were awarded, among many other trainers. 🏆 These awards highlighted our Trainer Network's commitment, passion, and tireless efforts in driving Carbon Literacy forward, inspiring learners everywhere to take meaningful climate action. A big thank you to our host for the evening, Seesaw, and our caters, ARMR, for their contributions to making this such a great night. On 20th September, we attended the The Globe Group CIC Climate Expo & Sustainability Conference in Staffordshire. 🌎 While spreading the word of Carbon Literacy, we had the pleasure of hearing inspiring keynotes by Wildlife Presenter, Michaela Strachan, and Professional Chef, Climate Campaigner (and Carbon Literate citizen 😉) Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall. 🤩 💭 Hugh’s powerful keynote reminded us of the deep connection between the food we eat and the planet we love, urging us to be mindful of all our consumption choices.🌾 💭 Michaela emphasised how animals thrive sustainably without fossil fuels, encouraging us to take such inspiration from nature, to enhance and innovate farming methods to protect biodiversity. 🦋 The Expo brought together a community of exhibitors, visitors and changemakers, all dedicated to creating a future that supports a fair and healthy planet. 🌎🌱 #CarbonLiteracy #ClimateExpo #SustainabilityEvent #Staffordshire #Midlands

  • Imagine starting a conversation about climate with a colleague or neighbour. What resonates more: polar bears and melting glaciers, or our shared experiences, like the impacts of extreme weather on our lives? By connecting climate issues to relatable examples, we can shift the focus from overwhelming concerns to actionable steps. Just as it's vital for us to talk about it, our elected representatives play a crucial role in shaping climate policy and need a solid grounding in climate science to communicate effectively. That’s why the Climate & Environment All-Party Parliamentary Groups are hosting a Leadership Programme for MPs, featuring an all-star line-up including IPCC Chair, Professor Jim Skea, and climate communicator, Professor Emily Shuckburgh. 📣 If you believe in a climate-aware Parliament (and hopefully one day a Carbon Literate one), please contact your MP and encourage them to attend! 📅 The sessions start on Tuesday, 8th October. 👉 Find out more here: https://lnkd.in/eygRTc93
