We like to keep our phone batteries charged, so what about our mental health batteries, and even our social batteries? Working unsociable hours, long shifts and often with the lack of sunlight - all of these things can take its toll on our mental health. Decompress after that chaotic shift, rest on those days off, and do something that brings 𝘆𝗼𝘂 joy. 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿, 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝟰𝟬%, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗹, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝟭𝟬𝟬%. #burnout #mentalhealth #depression #suicideawareness

Does this sound familiar? According to Gallup 76% of individuals state that they felt burnt out at work some of the time and 28% feel burnout often or always. When energy levels are good, we can start taking on more things, and often don't realise we are taking on too much and overcommit. We can then eventually feel overwhelmed and stressed - we're burning out. We may then begin to withdraw, feeling as though we have no energy for anyone or anything. We may then feel stuck, or do something that temporarily makes us feel better and the cycle begins again. 𝗦𝗼 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲? 👉 Identify your burnout triggers 👉 Figure out what you can do to break the cycle 👉 Speak to a manager at work about relevant changes Escape the cycle for good. #burnout #workplacewellbeing

Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending the Regional Finals for the Nestle Golden Chefs Award 2024. It was the 59th year of running the award organised by Nestlé Professional. I watched from the kitchen the students while they worked under the pressure of the clock to get their dishes up in time and present to the panel of judges for review. Attending the event as an Ambassador for The Burnt Chef Project it was great to talk to the students after the competition and discuss the topic of mental health in the workplace, in particular, the competition sector. A huge congratulations to everyone that took part, it's an amazing achievement to compete at any level and you should all be incredibly proud of yourselves. Congratulations of course to Amber Vastag who took out the Winners title and moves onto the National Finals in Melbourne. 👏 👏 👏 #inspired #hospitality #theburntchefproject #jrmhospitality #nestle

Yes I'm a tad giddy and pretty damn excited... We don't tend to do much 'looking back' here at The Burnt Chef Project. We're busy looking forward to 'what's next?' which is a question that has driven our growth since I started in May 2019. Well, NEWS JUST IN! Here is our most recent update for you... No sensationalism. Just cold hard data that we can prove time and time again. 51,500 health and wellbeing modules allocated via The Burnt Chef Academy since April 2021 completely for FREE. Almost 24,500 in the last 12 months alone! 🤯 🤯 🤯 "Allocation is great but what about completion rates!?" I hear you ask. Well, we're pretty stoked they sit at 89.88% 😁 Thanks to CPL Learning, an Access Company for their ongoing support in hosting this traffic and our content. If you are a CPL client and would like access to our courses and all of our stigma busting content on the Campus feed then drop me a line and let's have a chat about next steps 💪 If you're not a customer then no issues at all! You can still sign up and access all of our e-learning for free against any of your current LMS providers!
