I am so thankful and grateful to the incredible team at India Global Forum for having me at the Philanthropy round table recently to talk about the work and mission of Go Dharmic. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn from so many wonderful people doing so much for society in all of the diverse organisations. A special thank you to the lovely Lord Jitesh Gadhia who brilliantly hosted the session. It was inspiring to hear about the amazing impact of the British Asian Trust by Hitan Mehta OBE and many esteemed organisations present. It was lovely also to speak with Pooja Sehgal to learn about the important work of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and to hear about wonderful education projects of Pratham UK by CEO Nick Sankey, and the work of the WONDER Foundation to support vulnerable women in poverty by Olivia Darby FRSA. I also appreciated spending time with by Vivek Anand Oberoi who although has an incredibly busy life as an actor has dedicated a lot of time working on sustainable ways and means of making a difference through his foundation and personal philanthropy. What you do is truly commendable. I also want to extend gratitude to Gulnaz Brennan for the work you do and to all of the other kind hearted individuals present who are doing such important work. It was also great to spend time with Dr. Arunachalam Muruganantham and learn about his revolutionary work of bringing cost effective menstrual hygiene to rural women and breaking taboos. A heartfelt thank you to Manoj Ladwa for bringing everyone together. I firmly believe that philanthropy and the charitable sector should have no boundaries, and collaborative platforms like this are invaluable. The ancient ideas and values of India hold universal relevance and can help shape a more loving, compassionate, and happier world. It is my hope that we can all work together in the spirit of the Bhagavad Gita, which promotes the concept of Loka Samgraham – working for the welfare of the world. As India rises so may the world and all living beings.

📰 Skill Impact Bond featured in India’s Economic Survey! Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the country’s Economic Survey 2023-24 yesterday in parliament and we’re thrilled to see the Skill Impact Bond’s unique approach and interim results highlighted within this seminal document. The #BritishAsianTrust is grateful to see that the evidence and success of the Skill Impact Bond with National Skill Development Corporation has been one of the drivers for a stronger outcomes orientation in the government's approach to skilling, reflected in the budget speech where, “the Government aims to nurture an open, accountable, proactive and purposeful style of governance by transitioning from mere outlays to result-oriented outputs and outcomes.” Through the Skill Impact Bond, #India is setting a fantastic example on how impact bonds can inform better spending and scale.
