We end the academic year celebrating our partnership with Burberry - our Principal Partner of Fashion, Styling and Textiles at The BRIT School 💫 In addition to Burberry’s financial support two key elements are at the heart of the partnership; a student enrichment programme of talks and workshops and a bursary prize for students and their next steps into the creative industries ✂️🧵✍🏼 The enrichment programme has seen Burberry staff visit The School, meet students, deliver Q&As and practical sessions. Sharing their expertise and greatly enhancing the student experience. Feedback from students includes: “Through the talks I gained a thorough understanding of the fashion industry and how it works from the inside …how different departments within fashion work and what they do” “I learned how the fashion industry functions…their creative practices, team collaboration and how they adapt clothes based on their heritage wear” Thank you Burberry 💜 Full story: t.ly/xlrPH #BRITTransforms

Wonderful that The BRIT School was able to welcome Chris Bryant to their Croydon campus this morning on his first official visit as Creative Industries Minister. Chris met the future creative workforce (and recited a Shakespeare monologue too.) So encouraging that a creative education for all children is at the centre of Labour’s creative manifesto - and free state specialist providers like BRIT have a hugely important role to play. #alwaysBRIT

In celebration of World Earth Day, we are revisiting ‘Why On Earth’ - an original BRIT School musical performed in July 2023. Exploring the climate crisis through the performing arts, the musical was enjoyed by almost 1,000 primary and secondary school children from across Croydon, inspiring them to find their voice in fighting for climate justice. To explore the climate emergency in more detail, our Applied Theatre department delivered a number of interactive workshops and assemblies in local schools, encouraging more than 1,300 children to take action and protect the future of the planet. #ThisIsCroydon #LondonBoroughOfCulture #BRITTransforms https://lnkd.in/eDanf3GM
