The curtain falls on AIMA's flagship ESG event - Putting ESG into Practice 2024.   During the day, we explored IOSCO’s sustainability-focused work programme with Kris Nathanail ASCI EMBA, Chief of Staff at IOSCO, including its ongoing work on transition plans for both corporates and asset managers. It was important to note how the regulatory debate has moved beyond ESG as criteria for managing risk to encompass a focus on the real work impact of investment decisions.   Panellists also shined a light on shifting investor perspectives on responsible investment and ESG, looking at everything from product labels through to the specific themes that are taking centre stage in the ESG debate. We are live in London for AIMA's dedicated ESG conference at the Barbican, an award-winning venue for sustainability, where AIMA CEO Jack Inglis has opened proceedings.   We've already heard from today's keynote speaker, the Rt Hon Chris Skidmore, former Minister for Energy and Chair of the Net Zero Review. Mr Skidmore outlined the progress made since he signed the UK's Net Zero commitments into law five years ago. He also laid out the steps the new Labour Government should take in its first 100 days to meet its 2030 targets, including the role that private investments must play in energy transition projects.
