Today I had the pleasure of surprising PC Elaine Stout with a commendation for her work in Thames Valley Police as she reaches retirement. Elaine has spent the majority of her service as a SOLO - sexual offences liaison officer - supporting victims of rape & sexual assault through investigations & court. Our SOLOs do such an important, and often hidden role. Thank you for your service Elaine & best wishes for your retirement!

Last week I was part of a great team of colleagues from Leicestershire Police that made up an East Midlands PSU, for the European Political Community Meeting at Blenheim Palace. An event that saw leaders from across the globe in one impeccable venue, discussing key topics; however, none of it would have been possible without the specialist skills from officers and staff from across the policing family, from all around the UK. Thames Valley Police did a brilliant job at making us all feel welcome, looking after our welfare, and making sure an Operation of this size ran smoothly. Not my first time on mutual aid down in TVP, but certainly another brilliant opportunity and experience under my belt.

Over the past couple of weeks I've been at Thames Valley Police supporting the force with the European Political Community Summit at Blenheim Palace with almost 50 European world leaders attending 🚔🌍 It was a fantastic experience being able to support the Communications Team with this hugely important event, especially with it being my first mutual aid role 👮🏼♀️🤝 It was also a bonus getting to spend those two weeks in the beautiful county Oxfordshire! 🌞 #BlenheimPalace #EPC #KierStarmer #Europe #Police #MutualAid

#MutualAid What an absolute blast! I have just returned from the last few days working in Thames Valley Police supporting them as part of a national mutual aid deployment on the European Political Community Summit. I have to say how immensely proud I am of my team of officers from West Midlands Police. Under some challenging circumstances created by incredible weather ☀️ the team worked superbly well supporting each other to deliver a safe event, acting professionally and with pride. Each serial supervised by really competent and considerate Sergeants made my job very easy, thank you! Hugely grateful for another great experience leading an achieving team away from the ‘day job’, seeing and learning all the way I hope to bring back to West Midlands Police more knowledge and experience to share and implement in future policing events. Custody Coach Paul Stewart: "I'm there to try to offer some sort of opportunity, hope or interest for the individuals." A 'Custody Coach' scheme aimed at helping young people involved in crime take a different path is currently being implemented in Milton Keynes.
