We had the pleasure of welcoming back the new Secretary of State for Wales, Jo Stevens, to our Port Talbot site yesterday as she took the Chair of the Transition Board for the first time. Jo also took the opportunity to discuss the company's journey to low CO2 steelmaking with the Tata Steel UK Management Team, and to talk with a number of local apprentices currently working at Port Talbot and Trostre. The Welsh Secretary said: "This Government is determined to do all it can to protect our Welsh steel industry and has immediately reset our approach on how we work with businesses and communities. We will work collaboratively with a single focus to support our steel industry and affected communities." Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/eHCUZ6Gx

Naturally, Tata Steel's Trostre site has offered a helping hand to restore it to its former glory. On a visit to the centre Joe Gallacher, Works Manager at Tata Steel in Trostre, commented on the importance of maintaining a positive relationship between the site and the Wetlands Centre: ‘It is all about building good relationships with our local environment, being responsible custodians of our site and supporting our local community and charities.’ We look forward to sharing the end result with you!
