    Managing Director - North West, TalentEdge - Executive Search for Finance Directors and CFO's

    Most people who know me, know I love a challenge - but it remains to be seen if the 496 Challenge I’ve signed up for is a step too far (pun intended) even for me! For those unfamiliar with what it involves, I’ll be running a total of 496k in September - starting with a 1k run on the 1st of September and then an extra kilometre per day for the next 30 days. The back end of the challenge is horrendous 25k followed by 26k followed by 27k.. you get the drift! While this might sound a bit nuts (and it probably is!) I’m doing it to raise money for a cause that’s really close to my heart. I’m hoping, with your help, to raise at least £1000 for The Christie NHS Foundation Trust based in Manchester. Whether it’s my knees or legs in pain, or mental demons telling me to stop, none of the discomfort involved will come close to the physical or mental pain that anyone fighting cancer must deal with ….. so in that last week or so when things get really tough, it will be time to suck it up, lace the trainers up and get back out there to complete the challenge. I know first-hand about the amazing work that The Christie does for those suffering from cancer and the support they provide for their families. My own father was treated there up until his early death from the disease 18months ago, and I saw then how they went above and beyond to ensure he had the best possible care throughout his illness. Unfortunately, I’m also close to others who are currently being affected by this terrible disease. Cancer will impact nearly all of us during our lifetimes, because we or someone we know will suffer from it. Places like The Christie need our help to ensure they can continue supporting sufferers and their loved ones, and also to fund research that will ensure that more people survive cancer in the future. So I’d deeply appreciate any donation however small so that together we can help The Christie continue their invaluable work in the North West. TalentEdge https://lnkd.in/euYYdJgi
