We’ve won Construction Safety at Network Rail’s SHELT Awards 2024! 🏆🥳 We’re very proud to have been awarded the prestigious accolade in recognition of our innovative 4D construction planning and visualisation initiative, which revolutionises safety in railway infrastructure projects by integrating 3D models with project schedules, resulting in 4D planning that allows for the digital rehearsal of complex construction activities. Pretty impressive right?! 🙌 The tool, which has already been used on the The Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) east, simulates construction processes before they even begin, which means potential risks and conflicts can be identified with excellent communication and collaboration amongst stakeholders. How can we decarbonise the transport system fast enough to avoid further global harm? 🤔 ⌛ That was the question put to the panellists in our recent webinar, 'Transport decarbonisation - making the necessary impacts', chaired by Sally McNamara, our Director in Social Market Research. The possible solutions: 📉 Better demand management to reduce levels of movement and the encouragement of residual journeys to be undertaken by low carbon modes. 💰 A reduction of road use through road-user charging and carbon fees. 💪 Clearer policy direction. ⚡ Electric freight through some version of an electric road system and BEVs. 🚌 Investment in green public transport to reduce the number of vehicles on the road, spur on innovation in low carbon technology, help promote social inclusion and stimulate local economies.
