As a Remote Swimming Pool Manager at the Royal Life Saving Society Western Australia, Steve channels his passion into educating Aboriginal Australians in the remote town of Warmun and surrounding Western Australian communities. His focus is on imparting crucial swimming and water safety skills, tailored to the unique challenges faced by these remote communities. Central to Steve's efforts is his pioneering Kimberley River Safety Program, designed to equip children in remote settlements with the essential skills and knowledge for safely navigating inland waters. This innovative program offers hands-on safety education sessions that cover water conditions, potential hazards, and basic rescue techniques. The program has been successfully implemented in four remote Aboriginal communities, leaving a lasting impression and significantly improving safety awareness among participants.
