With a razor sharp focus on innovation, they are now pushing the boundaries for Image Based Lighting. SUMOLIGHT is a German-based manufacturer of lighting systems for film & broadcast-productions. Founded in 2011 by gaffers and photographers, their experience on set is in the DNA of all SUMOLIGHT products. The company has a short but successful legacy of creating LED lighting fixtures that are in high demand across global productions and used by gaffers and DoP’s in a number of very creative ways. The portfolio includes SUMOSKY, SUMOMAX, SUMOSPACE , others archive technologies and lighting accessories. SUMOLIGHT was established in Berlin, Germany, where the HQ is still located. Other subsidiaries are in Los Angeles, US and the UK. Their first bicolor light, the compact SUMO100, with its interchangeable innovative and versatile light shaping tools like the foldable Soft Box set a new standard for the industry. It's successor the SUMOSPACE won the Cine Gear Expo Technical Award for best Lighting Technology and is considered by many as the standard in LED space lighting. In 2019 a unique mounting system, the SUMOSNAPᵀᴹ was developed, expanding the SUMOSPACE to a true modular lighting system. As the company designs, SUMOLIGHT products are model, “100% Eco Friendly LED Lighting”. In addition, SUMOLIGHT are working towards becoming a Net Zero Carbon and Carbon Neutral company by 2023.

#Manaki45 hosted the IMAGO "I of The Lens" Exhibition throughout the festival. Using the IMAGO Camera (the world’s only analogue, large format camera designed for life-sized self-portraits), this exhibition features stunning black and white portraits of cinematographers from across the globe. Curated by Vika Safrigina, Producer & Visionary Artist behind the IMAGO Camera and Photographer Susanna Kraus. The exhibition explores the introspective power of the lens, capturing not only the external world but also the unique character and deep emotions of the person behind it. The opening night cocktail party for VIP guests was held at the exhibition, as Festival Director Simeon Moni Damevski welcomed the guests, some of whom had travelled so far to be there, ready to enjoy the festival, the beautiful food and the hospitality of the wonderful people of Bitola. Great day doing a proof of concept using the Holodeck 1.9i LED tile and Sumolight's SumoSky IBL system for a company planning both stills and video LED VP.
Cinematic LED VP tiles Image Based Lighting (IBL) ... A highly productive day at Sumolight / Elstree Studios, with Simon Evans and Patch from Sumolight UK, Barry Grubb from 3LR, and our own VP technical supremo Oleks Skrypnyk. The task was a client test using the Holodeck 1.9i LED tiles working in conjunction with Sumolight's Sumosky IBL system, to shoot both stills and video for a photo studio planning a LED VP installation. The balanced skin tones that result from using an RGBWW IBL light source, and an RGB LED tile that provides ultra-high colour gamut coverage with a 15,360Hz refresh rate is highly compelling !
