We are at Thomas Gainsborough School today, speaking to students about career options and giving them ideas about next steps. As always, it’s really great to speak to the young people and give them inspiration about their future. We are joined today by Cameron Cade who is one of our new Graduate Project Officers who can give really great advice to the young people about his recent education experience.

We've raised concerns in our response to the government’s proposed reforms for planning policies for England. In particular, fears about the lack of clarity around infrastructure, such as schools, transport, waste & facilities when new housing is approved. https://lnkd.in/d9xKZ8kJ

Thank you to British International Freight Association - BIFA for inviting the Suffolk Trading Standards Imports Team to come and speak at the Anglia Regional Members meeting today. Phil and Clare gave an overview of what the team do on a daily basis, intercepting harmful products at the Port of Felixstowe before these can enter the UK’s marketplace. They also spoke about how the work they do here in Suffolk fits into the National picture, ensuring the best possible security measures are in place to protect the public across the whole of the UK from unsafe products. We've welcomed news of Sizewell C's £25m investment to enable flood defence works at Benacre to be completed. We plan to commit £2m to the scheme – which if wasn’t built, is estimated that the economic impact would run into hundreds of millions of pounds. https://lnkd.in/ewaUgz-W
