We're approaching the bottom of the annual SWOT-trough. Google Trends analysis indicates that interest in SWOT is seasonal. It peaks in early December. And we're just reaching the lowest point of interest now. This suggests that SWOT analysis remains linked to annual business planning cycles. But Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats don't emerge or change on some schedule. They can emerge or change at any time of the year. So organisations who review them only on an annual cycle are flying blind the rest of the year. This presents a huge opportunity for organisations to think strategically throughout the year, instead of at predetermined individuals, and in doing so, to get ahead of the market and the competition.
