Happy birthday to the Tattershall Castle 🎂 The iconic floating pub on the River Thames celebrated its 90th birthday over the weekend, commemorated with a nostalgia-filled event which took partygoers on a musical journey through the last 90 years.  Built in 1934, the ship was used during World War II as a tethering vessel for barrage balloons in the Humber estuary, travelling between Grimsby and Hull. Today, the beloved ship is now one of the most beloved London landmarks, enjoyed by thousands of guests every week. 🥂 

Following a summer of fierce competition, the winner of Stonegate’s very first Masterchef competition has been crowned 👑 Since May, kitchen team members from across the business have been developing their own dishes and menus, ready to wow the judges. Ahead of the grand finale, the six finalists were subject to rigorous mystery guest visits and kitchen inspections. After a presentation of their signature menus, and a homemade pasta invention test, Dariusz Zarzecki from The Rule took home the first-place prize. Judges commended his dishes for their freshness and vibrance, not forgetting his show-stopping presentation. 🍽 The judging panel were blown away by the creativity, passion and craftmanship of the chefs, and we’re all counting down to next year’s competition already! On Tuesday, the industry gathered at Victoria Warehouse in Manchester for the prestigious Great British Pub Awards, and we’re proud to share that two of our pubs came away with top accolades! The Myrtle Tavern in Leeds was named Best Pub Garden, impressing judges with its beautifully designed, community-focused outdoor space. And the Gloucester Old Spot in Bristol took home the title of Stonegate Group Pub Partners Pub of the Year, standing out as a fantastic all-rounder and a beloved local favourite as it approaches its 10th anniversary. With so many of our pubs making it to the finals, this is a fantastic achievement for everyone involved.
