About us

Step Change in Safety is a not-for-profit, member-led organisation which aims to make the energy industry the safest in the world to work in. Safety requires collaboration from everyone. This is why Step Change in Safety brings together operators and contractors, trade unions, regulators and the onshore and offshore workforce. Through the Step Change in Safety work-groups and support team, we work relentlessly to raise safety standards, share good practice and communicate facts so that no-one becomes complacent about staying safe.

Earlier this week, Claxton, a Step Change in Safety member, welcomed Step Change CEO Craig Wiggins, who provided a presentation to all staff on driving safety culture and specifically on human performance principles. The presentation was followed by a lively discussion with all team members about safety and tangible ways we can continue to drive this forward. Claxton has recently conducted its Step Change in Safety annual survey, which is used as a tool to gauge staff perception of the company’s safety performance and areas to celebrate or build on. Laura Claxton, Claxton COO, commented: “The presentation was engaging and a brilliant segue into our ‘Safety Conversation Week’ next week. Our team in Stavanger looks forward to his visit.” #safety #stepchangeinsafety #safetyintheworkplace
