Building Financial Resilience, Food Security and Sustainable Communities to set people free from poverty

About us

St Andrew's Community Network is an independent charity (Charity No. 1105307) who exists to resource churches and community organisations to design out poverty in their own localities. Set up over 20 years ago to address the needs of the Clubmoor community, the Network has grown significantly and now supports thousands of people every single year. We work every day to set people free from the life-affecting consequences of poverty, supporting the most disadvantaged and vulnerable people throughout Liverpool and beyond. Our work is focused on three main endeavours: 1. Building Financial Resilience - providing debt advice and income maximisation support to address the causes of financial crises and move people towards long-term stability 2. Building Food Security - offering both short and long-term support to those in food insecurity as the coordinators of North Liverpool Foodbank and a network of Community Food Pantries throughout the city, operating 22 food hubs in total 3. Building Sustainable Communities - providing capacity building support to the organisations we work alongside, to enable and empower them to build up and strengthen the life of the local community and provide support for any additional needs their community has

  • We're a bit late to the game, but finally on LinkedIn! 👋 Whether you've known about us for years or are only just discovering what we do, let us introduce ourselves 👇 We're St Andrew's Community Network, an independent charity who work every day to support people across our communities by building financial resilience, food security and sustainable communities throughout Liverpool and beyond. We are the coordinators of North Liverpool Foodbank, operating 11 centres to support those in food crisis and also coordinate a number of community food pantries throughout the city which provide a solution to more chronic, long-term food insecurity. Our teams of income maximisation and debt advisors work with clients to support them through their current financial crisis and move towards long-term stability. Across 2022/23, we provided emergency food to over 13,000 people – including 4,643 children – and our pantries supported an average of 4,242 people every month, allowing members to save £512,563 on grocery costs across the year. Our income maximisation team gave advice to over 500 people, leading to an overall increase in annual income of £281,867 and our debt team managed over £6 MILLION worth of debt, writing off over £2 million and freeing so many people from debt. A huge difference made for so many people throughout our communities, and so many stories of change. • Today, our income maximisation team reached a huge milestone as they hit £2 MILLION - yes, two million! - in gains for the people they've supported since we launched the service 🙌 💜 That's £2million of income for our members of our communities that they either didn't know they were entitled to or needed help accessing the benefits they're entitled to. 💜 That's £2million of income that our communities can use to pay for essential bills and care costs, easing the financial burden that so many are facing and reducing the stress of money issues, improving mental health for families and households across the city. 💜 That's £2million worth of building financial resilience across North Liverpool and beyond. Life-changing work and a huge impact from a small, but incredible, team 👏

Lovely morning visit to St Andrew's Community Network to finally hand over the prize from our Liverpool Expo Business Card Draw. It was great hearing positive stories and finding out just how many food pantries and communities they reach. You might of heard that Taylor Swift made a generous donation to St Andrew's following her recent concerts in Liverpool. This was a great thing for Taylor to do BUT please do not be fooled - this donation wont last forever and the organisation still needs the generous support from the Community and those who can give to help others. If you can help in anyway please make a donation especially with summer holidays fast approaching.

Today is the first day of #VolunteersWeek 2024! 🎉 All week, we'll be celebrating our incredible volunteers who give their time, energy and skills every single day to support those in need throughout our communities. Without them, we simply couldn't have the impact we do - they are vital to our mission of setting people free from the life affecting consequences of poverty. From driving vans, delivering food, being Money Angels, working in our warehouse and operating on the front line at our foodbanks and pantries to giving debt advice, supporting with admin, helping our income maximisation team and more, every single volunteer makes a big difference to our work and we can't thank them enough 🤗 We are so lucky to be supported by other organisations and companies who work with us during their volunteering and CSR days. Giving back to communities is so important, and we're grateful to be working alongside companies who choose to spend their social action days with us 💜 Find out more about how you or your organisation could work alongside us here 👉 https://lnkd.in/eBAC2dy2 #Volunteer #GiveBack #Community #csr #VolunteersWeek2024 #ThankYou
