At Sported, we are appalled and deeply saddened by the recent race riots and the surge in racism and Islamophobia that has affected communities across the country. As an organisation committed to equity, inclusion and integrity, we stand unequivocally against all forms of hate, racism, and discrimination. We acknowledge the profound fear and anxiety that these events have instilled in many, particularly within marginalised communities. Although the riots may no longer be in full force, we understand that the fear and trauma persist long after the headlines have faded. At Sported, we believe in the power of sport to unite people, break down barriers, and create safe spaces where everyone, regardless of race or religion, can come together and thrive. Our commitment to driving change remains steadfast. We are actively exploring additional ways to support marginalised communities, ensuring that they have the resources and opportunities to overcome hate and build stronger, more resilient bonds. Sported will continue to listen, learn, and take action to help communities heal and move forward together. Together, we can rise above hate and work towards a future where everyone feels safe, respected, and included.

As the Paris 2024 Olympics loom, it's important to recognise that that so many of the medal hopefuls got their start at local community clubs. Sported's new research has highlighted that there is spinoff at a grassroots level from the Games but also the barriers that young people face in participation that could block them from aiming for the level. The media have been spotlighting the issues we've raised. https://lnkd.in/eyXCkkvW

A huge thank you to the team at Safejawz for allowing us to provide mouthguards to Sported members across the country ❤️

    CEO | Co-Founder @ SAFEJAWZ Mouthguards.

Just under 5000 free mouthguards packed up to go out to sports clubs around the country who have young members who otherwise would be excluded from sport due to their family not having the money to pay for appropriate equipment. We couldn't be happier to be working with Sported to get these mouthguards out to where they are most needed. Access to equipment shouldn't be a limiting factor for any young person wanting to take part in sport. So pleased that charities like Sported exist and are working tirelessly to remove the barriers to participation for low income families. 🙌 Special thanks to; Nadia Lipsey at Sported for the quick work finding worthy recipients Max Vale for first letting me know about Sported. and also just raised £1500 himself for the charity by doing the Snowdon 24hr ultra race 🫡 Rebecca Holmes and Jess who have orchestrated the logistics from our end
