Here is what John Dove and Hayley Crombleholme had to say about civil submissions advocacy the last time we covered this at the Advocacy Club. This Tuesday, our members will have the opportunity to perform a practical piece of advocacy that a junior civil lawyer would be likely to encounter in practice. If you would like the opportunity to practice this, and many other, forms of advocacy, there is still time to join the Advocacy Club. Breakfast with a view! This is a big part of the realities of the bar. You'll spend a lot of time on the road and in hotels. Premier Inn is the Speed Mooting team's hotel of choice. They're cheap and cheerful and you can always count on a good breakfast before court - what more do you need?! Today, John is in a little town called Workington - a 5 hour round trip! How far are you travelling for work today?

It's been a month since the Speed Mooting Northern Pupillage Fair in Liverpool took place, and I still feel motivated. It was the first and certainly not the last meeting I will come back to. The lovely Hayley Crombleholme took care of the organization of this event in detail. I wanted to sincere gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the recent law event. It was an enriching experience that allowed me to connect with many wonderful people, both inspired students and experienced professionals in the field of law. Adam Kramer KC has helpfully clarified the differences between the professions of solicitor and barrister, so that as a student I have an outline on such an important matter not only from books. Matthew Curtis also honestly presented the path to becoming an outstanding barrister. He showed that you can achieve success with a commitment to following the set direction. John Dove's presentation also brought a lot of important information regarding the above-mentioned profession, including what we can expect in court, and what factors are used to mitigate a sentence in criminal law. The insights gained from the presentations were invaluable, and I appreciate all the effort that went into organizing such a meaningful gathering. Thank you once again for hosting a fantastic event. I look forward to future opportunities to engage with the legal community.
