Black Tot Rum is unveiling the latest edition of its super-premium rum, Master Blender’s Reserve, set to launch globally on 1st July 2024. Spurred on by the success of the previous iterations, the Black Tot team continues to seek out rums from around the globe to create flavour-led, characterful blends which resonate with the dark spirits drinker.   The 2024 edition focuses on the cultural birthplace of rum, Barbados – with a high proportion of rums from Foursquare, Mount Gay, and West Indies Distillery. To create Master Blender’s Reserve, Head Blender Oliver Chilton continues to use a perpetual blend as the backbone – a blend that has been added to every year since the inaugural release in 2020. Last weekend, our Marketing & PR Executive Tegan undertook a hike in the Peak District in support of Only A Pavement Away. As of yesterday, the team of 60 hikers have raised an incredible £30,000 for the charity, which will go towards supporting people facing homelessness, prison leavers, and veterans into careers within hospitality. We are immensely proud to work with this charity and see them go from strength to strength. We are excited to announce the launch of the 9th edition of Christian Drouin's Experimental range, Arran Angels. Turning its attention to Scotland for this release, Drouin and the Arran distillery have had a relationship for many years, exchanging casks for decades - for this release, a 13-year-old Pays d’Auge Calvados was matured for 6 months in French oak casks that were originally gifted to the distillery from Drouin, and had been used to mature Arran whisky for over 17 years.   On the nose, this Calvados is delicate with distinctive aromas of apples – from ripe, juicy orchard apples to soft caramelized apples fried in butter. It then opens up with notes of malt, apricot, and pear, with a perfect balance of roundness and acidity. The finish displays hints of hazelnut and cereal. The campaign aims to demonstrate that Cocchi’s quality extends beyond the bar, connecting with consumers who are looking for inspiration whilst shopping for cocktail ingredients to use at home. Designed to showcase the versatility of Cocchi, the campaign features three easy-to-create serves: neat for ‘Sip’, a negroni for ‘Stir’, and a ‘Spritz’ serve, all using the brand’s hero product, Cocchi Storico Vermouth di Torino. SIP, STIR, SPRITZ with Cocchi will be supported by a marketing and communication campaign starting this month in the UK so watch this space. A week ago today we hosted a new edition of our Portfolio Tasting which saw drinks industry professionals from all across the UK come to sample our portfolio and discover new exciting brands and spirits. Brand representatives also made the trip to London for the event; notable new additions include Takamaka and Chichibu, along with new rum offerings from Hampden Estate, Christian Drouin, Amrut and Transcontinental Rum Line. Our dedicated brand ambassador team curated a programme of masterclasses, teaching attendees about food pairing and wild fermentation - the last masterclass of the day was an exclusive talk from Yumi Yoshikawa of Chichibu to give the inside scoop on our newest whisky brand.
