And just like that... it's a wrap on The Manchester Metropolitan University #StaffAwards2024. Our University-wide flagship recognition programme came to an incredible end for another year as we delivered the live ceremony on Friday evening.
A 6 month-long project plan, 1404 nominations, 15 shortlisting panels, 1 final judging panel, 240 special guests, 68 amazing finalists, 21 incredible winners and 1 happy (and tired) project lead 😅 Isn't it easy to get wrapped up in the figures and the process? I'm a stickler for the details and anyone who has seen my RAG-rated project plan knows (!) but ultimately what drives me most is the knowledge that all this work truly creates moments that matter for my colleagues and the University.
It's the little things I think that really make the difference - the quick chat on teams, the mini motivational email, the opportunity to pick a song for the DJ to play on the night ('You've got the love' is a banger and everyone agrees). When you get that right, the rest all falls into place.
But of course, given the whole point of the Staff Awards, I couldn't post without sharing recognition for the whole team Anusree Saha - Williams (She / Her), Charlotte Jackson, Lucy Geater, Jessica Pringle and the many, many colleagues who bring it all to life!
Thank you to our facilities and catering teams Chris Fry, Joanna Rolska, Darren Graham, and Troi Sequeira our comms team Iesha Thomas, Victoria Bamber and Kate Houghton, our design team Callum Smyth and Claire Harrison-Davis, our POD volunteers Emma O’Shea, Louise Neilson CMIOSH, DipNEBOSH, Michelle Zephir, Sarah Wheeldon (Chartered MCIPD), Zoe Johnston and Julie Butler. Last of all, another great experience working with Holly Glasby-Hemmings, Louise Balderson and Ryan Tipler from Sparq.
Onwards to 2025 ✨
