Another fantastic monthly networking event for our members last week at Spaceport Cornwall! Great to be joined by members of Cornwall Space Cluster for our networking/speed dating sessions as one attendee put it. A few notable events occurred this month: 1. The steering group got together the night before for a wonderful dinner organised by Russ COLE! Many thanks for that! 2. Philip Tarry hosted his last event for the cluster! We’re grateful for the efforts he’s contributed towards establishing our regular meetings, bringing the community together and setting the foundations on which his successor can build on! We wish him all the best with his next steps! 3. Jake Entwistle introduced himself to his members in preparation for taking over the Programme Manager role from Phil. He outlined some ideas for his contribution in 2025 which we’re looking forward to seeing implemented! 4. We hosted a short AGM where members gave some valuable insight as to what they want to see in 2025! Fantastic South West Regional Defence & Security Cluster event yesterday at Spaceport Cornwall. A jam packed agenda as always. Fascinating insights from James Miller (Avanti Communications), Yury Stelmakh (Sky-Drones), Ben Hillard (Epiphany Engineering) and Scott Jones (FermionX Manufacturing) plus a mind boggling presentation about 'Preparing People for Space Flight' from Blue Abyss Global and a briefing from Neil Skelland on #NIAG and #Spacenet. Great to see and spend some time with long standing connections, as well as meeting new people, including those from the Cornwall Space Cluster. Super interesting conversation with Chris Wardman, and excited about the opportunity to build our business connection further. Fabulous to be able to talk with passion about mining again with Ola Zawalna-Geer. We hope we can pursue our discussions further, and can be of help. #CopperTurtle #SustainableChange

🚀 I’m thrilled to announce that I will be speaking at the upcoming South West Regional Defence & Security Cluster (SWRDSC) Member Event on Thursday, 19th September 2024 at Spaceport Cornwall, the UK’s first licensed spaceport. At 10:45 AM, I’ll be delivering a presentation on fixed-wing VTOL UAS, where I’ll dive into case studies, features, and solutions fueled by Sky-Drones' extensive experience in UAS technology development and integration. Sky-Drones is a leader in designing highly customized UAS for government and enterprise clients — including NASA, Honeywell, and various government contractors across the US, UK, and Australia. We're proud to be involved in six Innovate UK-funded projects, including four within the prestigious Future Flight Challenge programme. This event is a fantastic opportunity to engage with key stakeholders in the Defence & Security sectors and showcase Sky-Drones' cutting-edge technology.
