Combatting climate change through the reduction of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is high on the world's agenda. Carbon capture and storage is one possible solution for mitigating the climate crisis. In this first of three new blogs, Stephen Auld starts to look at the challenges of climate change and how offshore carbon capture and storage might be part of the solution. https://lnkd.in/eb_wjNSv #CCS #carboncapture #climatechange

A successful subsea data gathering mission completed recently by an uncrewed surface vessel in the challenging waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Reducing carbon footprint, personnel costs and risks whilst collecting valuable current data. We can't wait to bring you more information about this project, our technology it involved and our research partners. Keep an eye out for more in the coming months! In the mean time, head to our website to find out more about the marine robotic data gathering mission with SeaTrac Systems, Inc. #USV #marinerobotics #oceanresearch https://lnkd.in/ejdyn7xj

Our summer had a boost of fresh ideas and enthusiasm this year with the arrival of five new Engineering interns. The eclectic mix of PhD, degree and A-level students worked alongside our staff for eight weeks, developing a range of marine science and technology tools, methods and instruments - while also bringing lots of fun to Sonardyne! Their projects explored a diverse range of topics, including novel sensing technologies, calibration methods, data mining, subsea communications and statistical methods for analysing large volumes of data. See more here... https://hubs.la/Q02NNCXC0 We are committed to supporting education and academia, including the sponsorship of PhD research students and summer internships for aspiring marine scientists and engineers. See our website for more information on these and other opportunities. #interns #engineering #marine
