✨ Three key lessons from Ben White at Impact Reporting this morning Pioneers Post Social Coffee Break. Wherever you are on the impact reporting journey, these takeaways will inspire you to do your best! 💡 At NatWest Social & Community Capital, we’ve just launched our own impact report, and Ben’s points really resonated with us—especially the focus on outcomes and always asking ‘why?’ 🔍. This approach has not only helped us rethink what and how we report, but it’s also encouraged us to dig deeper into how we collect, validate, and present data. 📊 More importantly, it’s reminded us that beyond the numbers, the true impact lies in the stories - stories of positive impact. 💛 Huge thanks to Ben White for simplifying such a complex topic and showing us that we can all do it, and do it well! 🙌 Stay tuned for more reflections from the webinar! 🎙️ #ChampioningChange #ImpactReporting #NatWestSCC #PioneersPost
Our MD Ben White beat the impact drum in this morning's coffee break with Pioneers Post. In case you missed it, here are three myths he busted: Myth 1: Impact management is only for the big organisations 💼 False. Smaller organisations make a huge difference, often in ways that are disproportionate and deeply meaningful. Impact is for everyone, regardless of size. Myth 2: If it can't be measured, it doesn’t count 🧮 Measuring impact can be tough, and not everything worthwhile has a readily available proxy value. Think about how to measure the meaningful change you want to make, rather than working from proxies backwards. Say it with us: 👏🏽Don't 👏🏽abandon👏🏽 important 👏🏽work 👏🏽 just 👏🏽because 👏🏽it’s 👏🏽hard 👏🏽 to 👏🏽 quantify. 👏🏽 Myth 3: Bigger is better 🦖 It’s not about the biggest numbers. Outputs (the easy-to-measure stuff) might look good, but what really matters are outcomes – the actual changes you’re making in the world. How to get started? 🫶🏽 - Start small, but start somewhere - be willing to make mistakes and improve as you go. - Understand the impact you want to make first - then look at how to measure it. - Focus on outcomes, not just outputs. Keep asking 'why?' #howtobebrilliantatreporting #impactreporting #socialbusiness #SE100 NatWest Social & Community Capital Aishwarya Bajpai
