With a general election around the corner and 2.83m people off work due to long-term sickness, accessible healthcare for all has never been more important. To achieve this, we’re calling on the next Government to... 1. Acknowledge low-cost health cover as an effective method of tackling in-work sickness and driving the prevention agenda. 2. Reduce excessive tax burdens placed upon health cover products, employers and their employees. 3. Collaborate with the health protection industry to understand and unlock the role it can play in driving a healthier nation.

The result? An AI-powered chatbot integrated within Microsoft Teams, capable of fielding questions related to an internal process—all crafted within a single working day! Leveraging low-code technology and generative AI, we grounded the chatbot's responses in existing knowledge articles, ensuring the response was both relevant and accurate. This initiative exemplifies our commitment to leveraging technology for efficiency and embodies our spirit of collaboration and continuous learning. This achievement is just a peek into how we're using technology to transform the employee experience at Simplyhealth. Today we hosted the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce for their monthly collaborative networking event at our Andover office. Our CEO Paul Schreier opened proceedings with the acknowledgement that nationally, we are in the middle of a period of immense change with a new government that is focussed on economic growth. He went on to say that what they can’t afford to ignore is small and medium sized businesses due to their scale and sphere of influence, their role as a force for good and in the health of their workforces. With a record 2.83m on long term sick leave we know businesses themselves do want to do more to help their employees stay fit and well. The benefits are clear – improved productivity, a happier and healthier workforce. The group then discussed what help was needed from the new government to better enable and incentivise small and medium businesses to make health support more accessible. This was followed by a valuable networking session and round the room elevator pitches connecting a diverse group of business leaders.

Last week, we attended the opening ceremony for Andover Mind's Garden for Mind! We have been proud to support the creation of the garden and can’t wait to see it being used, and benefitting the people of our local community. Charlotte Cook
