Philip Roe, President of Logistics UK, gave an incredibly insightful yet direct keynote speech on how the UK logistics sector, as a contributor to the UK’s carbon emissions, has a key role to play in achieving the UK’s net zero goals. Delivering a strong message that although the Freight Energy Forum and ZEHID trials have begun, more is needed and it is clear that an urgent injection of pace is needed to meet the UK targets. Operators, manufacturers, energy providers and infrastructure companies all need to work together - we cannot wait for a magic bullet. A critical lever to reduce road miles and emissions is a modal shift to rail.
