A round-up of the three most spook-tacular marketing campaigns we've seen this Halloween🎃 1️⃣ Nike "Run from the shadows": featuring two runners sprinting through an eerily-lit street, away from looming figures that represent their fears. Never one to forget their own tagline, Nike finishes off with their iconic "Just Do It" slogan. As we always say, there's nothing wrong with a good old-fashioned bit of repetition when it comes to brand marketing. 2️⃣ The Coca-Cola Company's Fanta x Beetlejuice collab: a partnership we never knew we needed. This immersive and interactive campaign has featured TV and cinema ads as well as digital and live experiences. QR codes plastered on the side of the limited edition Beetlejuice Fanta take the viewer on a haunted train experience and offer them a chance to win a trip to a haunted escape room. 3️⃣ Apple "Face the unseen": reinforces the perceived security of Face ID by implying that not even ghosts or ghouls can trick Apple's cutting edge privacy tech. Direct mail at one point was ‘dying out’ as digital took over … Except it wasn’t. And it didn’t. People still love print. Like, LOVE print. The tangible nature of something addressed personally to you and really physically there in your hand will beat an email in a fight any day of the week. I love nothing more than to stick my head in a box of newly printed material and give it a really good sniff. 👃 And whilst sustainability-wise print still has its challenges, I was so pleased to get this from the National Trust this morning. I love it because they: 🍁 remind everyone about their charitable purpose 🍁 demonstrate their green credentials with a wrap made of potato starch 🍁 tell you how to dispose of it to alleviate that recycling confusion we all get. And don’t come at me about the amount of carbon created to make potato starch into this - it’s better than single use plastic. Love. To. See. It. 👏🏻

Another brilliant campaign by Oatly 👏 What's so great about it? ☑️ 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗮𝗻- "it works in tea". It's a realistic claim; they aren't outlandishly suggested that it's 𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘨 in tea, just that it works. It's a cautious and non-offensive way of dipping their toe into the age-old British "how do you take your tea?" debate. ☑️ 𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗴- if you're still unconvinced by their claim, text the given number and you'll be greeted by Oatly's AI bot that will chat to you, offer you free products, and even sing you a song in the hope of persuading you to try oat milk in your morning cuppa. ☑️ 𝗨𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻- as always, they've kept their design work very simple, so that their audience can consume their message in a split second. Great designs are very often the simplest! ☑️𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗻𝘆- their promotional video features one man and a sign, traipsing around "somewhere up north in the UK". Why? Because they "heard they drink tea there". Oatly often employ a dry, deadpan sort of humour; it's part of their brand identity and we as viewers have come to expect it. Here, they've tapped into a familiar aspect of British culture in order to incite debate (cleverly making themselves the topic of conversation in households countrywide). What do you think?
