CoTrain - Shared Apprenticeship Service are pleased to be showcasing our apprentices’: Our first case study is about Anastasia: Anastasia joined CoTrain - Shared Apprenticeship Service in January 2023. She is doing her Waterproof Membranes Apprenticeship with AYM Services. Anastasia immediately enjoyed the practical part of the apprenticeship experience and the opportunity to build a good relationship with the site team. She came from her previous job in retail and childcare and fell in love with the built environment, especially with the feeling of being on the roof and seeing the view. “I’m never in one place, so time goes quick, and I am always learning new things. I am surprised how much goes into roofing! I’ve only just started so my main focus is to get through this apprenticeship so I have a skill that I can use for life.” – Anastasia said. CoTrain is incredibly proud of employing more and more females in construction and making the industry equal for all. We are inspired by Anastasia enjoying her experience and feeling confident and supported: “Being a female, I was a little bit worried about starting on a construction site, but the team have welcomed me and made me feel very comfortable. I’ve particularly got on well with my supervisor and manager, they have a lot of time for me.” Read more about our apprentices at https://buff.ly/3Wq1QOe #Cotrain #apprentice #success #skillsforlife #createappreticeships #SECBE

In the spirit of collaboration and our quest to celebrate the best and inspire the rest, we are inviting you to attend a short webinar on Tuesday 23rd July at 12.45pm to learn about our IFLP - Innovative Future Leaders Programme. Darke & Taylor Ltd, ADP Architecture and many other leading construction organisations use IFLP to give leaders in our businesses the information, inspiration and connections to drive positive change within our organisations and beyond. This free webinar is delivered by own leaders that have been on IFLP and continue to benefit – as we really want you and your organisation to also enjoy these benefits and to get involved in something that’s growing into something really special for the sector. Register here ➡ https://lnkd.in/eVuB_p-r The IFLP is a leadership development programme that brings together current or potential leaders from a deliberately balanced mix of construction clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and specialists. It exposes participants to disruptors from far beyond the sector and within the sector to inform and inspire their developments of ideas and efforts to drive positive change in their organisation and ideally beyond. It is a 12-month ‘course’ comprising quarterly 2-day residential workshops at Henley Business School, one-to-one coaching, book-ended with a launch and a showcase event, and with each participant’s sponsor involved at beginning/middle/end to support their participant’s success in developing creative solutions to a business challenge they bring to the programme. CoTrain – who we are: CoTrain - Shared Apprenticeship Scheme is a Shared Apprenticeship Scheme working in partnership and co-funded by CITB (Construction Industry Training Board). We offer flexible arrangements that overcome many of the challenges the industry faces when considering the ‘traditional’ apprenticeship route. CoTrain can help contractors fulfil their obligations to provide an apprenticeship placement on shorter-term contracts, where they are unable to support a 'traditional' full-time apprenticeship. A great reflection on Keith Heard years of experience. Keith has been a tremendous board member for SECBE; read all about his experience here: https://shorturl.at/pLguz
I have been really happy, interested and engaged as a Non Executive Director of SECBE. It has been a privilege to work with some incredible people from across the industry to discuss and promote the important work done. As I near the end of my time in this role, I thought I would share some reflections on my career, and how SECBE are working to deal with some of the fundamental issues. #scfvalues #teamNACF https://lnkd.in/ehTMZz-2
