Our batteries are going to Space, again! 🚀🔥 Saft has donated batteries to the Centre Spatial de l'Université de Montpellier (CSUM), a French academic center for spatial research. These batteries were used to power #ROBUSTA-3A, a nanosatellite on which more than 300 students and CSUM teams have worked over the past 10 years. ✅ ROBUSTA-3A was successfully launched on the first #Ariane6 rocket from the European spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana, on Tuesday, July 9 at 20:00 (Paris time). Think of it as a power bank for New Zealand ⚡ We’re currently building a battery energy storage system at Ruakākā near Whangārei, and it's on track for completion later this year. This 100-megawatt site will store enough power to run about 60,000 homes for up to two hours. We'll be able to top it up when power’s plentiful and release that power whenever it's needed by homes and businesses. We're looking forward to sharing progress on this great project, and the awesome team that's building it!
