We are very happy to announce❗ That here at S62 Community Together Rotherham CIC our grant funding application has been accepted by the amazing Rotherham Recovery Community BRIC funding panel to facilitate a: PEER SUPPORT RECOVERY GROUP! Through my lived experience this is a dream come true, to bring recovery support out into our community. Making it more accessible, available and approachable through lived experience. #peerssupportingpeers Together we will establish a support system for long term recovery.This will focus on building a supportive network through peer support, with the support of lived experience individuals input to coproduce a new place of acceptance, integration into wider society and the support of personal growth and development. This will be an opportunity for individuals in recovery to build and shape a future, experience a new community full of possibilities with their own power to grow.#powertothepeople The recovery community will have a voice and safe place to explore without judgement. S62 will coproduce a Recovery Peer Support Network in the community that is shaped and defined by all Peers involved. The project will include a weekly session that will be codesigned, helping our Peers build independent positive social choices, integrating into the wider community and exploring holistic approaches to self-care and the benefits of accessing green spaces for wellness. We will provide Peers with a suggestion list of areas to explore such as Journalling, creative outlets, physical activity and looking at barriers faced in daily life. To coproduce with my Peers will empower them to work in a team and give back through their own lived experience. They will benefit by connecting with their peers in a positive setting/group and explore integrating with other community members who have different lived experiences, sharing the power of their journeys where they wish to help tackle stigma and develop understanding past the recovery community.
