"I am constantly amazed by the seemingly endless reservoir of a dog's capacity to extend love and more often than not, in the case of my own dogs, to a complete stranger. Loyalty issues aside, dogs are profoundly loving creatures." 🐶 This National Human-Animal Bond Awareness Day, dog welfare expert Esme Wheeler shares how the dog-human bond can help us understand our shared sentience and create a kinder world for all animals ⬇️

We're campaigning to ban the practice of giving live animals as prizes at fairgrounds🎣 Goldfish, often given away in plastic bags, endure long durations without proper care and end up in homes unprepared for their needs, normally for mere entertainment. Help us protect these sentient beings by encouraging councils to stop this practice in your local area: https://bit.ly/4694w5Z

Merlin’s previous owner intentionally scalded him when he was just a kitten. He was left with a raw wound where his nose used to be and his back paw was red and inflamed 💔 Thanks to our incredible vets, inspectors and prosecutions team, Merlin got his happy ending and his previous owner was brought to justice. Merlin might be back to health, but his scars will never fade. Support our Summer Cruelty Appeal and help us continue rescuing animals who face unimaginable cruelty: https://bit.ly/3zO1qbs #RSPCA #AnimalCharity #AnimalWelfare

Today marks the 202nd anniversary of The Cruel Treatment of Cattle Act, the first law to protect farmed animals. Over the two centuries that have followed, you have helped us campaign to improve the lives of farm animals. Today we are celebrating the ban of live exports, which recently became law 🙌 Here's to many more years of change. Join our Million-Strong Movement: https://bit.ly/3RDmjfZ

Loki's vet called us for help after she suspected cruelty. His tiny body was covered in lumps and bruises and X-rays revealed that his ribs and paws were fractured 😞 He was seized by police and taken into the care of our Sussex North and Brighton branch where he was able to recover from his injuries while his previous owner was brought to justice. Thanks to your support, animals like Loki who face deliberate cruelty are able to receive the vital treatment they desperately need. See how your donations make a difference: https://bit.ly/3zE88AP
