To further support the professional development of our electricians, RSE has introduced a state-of-the-art Mobile Electrical Training Unit. This unit will be deployed across our UK locations, providing hands-on training with the types of equipment and interfaces our teams will encounter on-site. The mobile unit offers a safe and controlled environment where trainers can identify skill gaps, address potential hazards, and ensure that staff are fully certified before starting to work on-site. This not only improves safety but also enhances efficiency, reducing downtime and lowering the risk of on-site accidents. For our electricians, this training experience provides more than just technical skills – it builds confidence and empowers them to succeed in their roles. By offering practical, real-world training, we’re helping our teams feel better prepared for the challenges they’ll face, while also accelerating continued professional development. RSE is proud to invest in this innovative training solution, underscoring our commitment to the health, safety, and professional advancement of our employees. #ProfessionalDevelopment #Electrician #TrainingAndDevelpment

Today the team was delighted to deliver a presentation at an event hosted by CeeD (Centre for Engineering, Education and Development) which focused on empowering business growth and the net zero transition through innovation. Held at the Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) campus in Inverness, Stephen Sandilands provided an overview to RSE, showcasing our innovative modular water treatment solutions which offer significant cost, programme and carbon reductions to client projects. HIE discussed the support provided to RSE on larger-scale research and development projects, encouraging businesses to embrace failure as a part of the innovation process. Stephen Webb led the conversation around ESG and embedding sustainability across RSE, also highlighting how we promote the transition to green energy across our business operations. David Casaru added insight into how RSE actively invests in talent to develop the workforce by featuring our graduate and apprentice programmes. He further highlighted the recognition the team received for developing career opportunities in the water industry by winning the CeeD Skills Development award earlier in the year. The event also included a presentation by Inverness & Cromarty Firth Green Freeport around offshore wind investment and local manufacturing opportunities, raising the global significance of renewable projects in the Highlands. Thank you to David Nicholson and CeeD for hosting the event and providing RSE with the opportunity to discuss how we're implementing innovative solutions on our journey to net zero. On September 27th, our offices hosted the 2024 Macmillan Coffee Morning at our Inverness, Cumbernauld, Dalgety Bay, Muir of Ord, and Dewsbury locations to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.   The events were a great success, raising an impressive total of £1,504 thanks to the generous donations from all RSE staff. These funds will help support Macmillan Cancer Support's vital work, providing physical, financial, and emotional assistance to individuals diagnosed with cancer during their treatment and beyond.   We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed by bringing cakes and treats or donating to this important cause, which we are proud to support. #MacmillanCancerSupport #MacmillanCoffeeMorning2024

Yesterday, we were pleased to welcome The Lighthouse Charity to our Dewsbury and Saftronics Limited facilities for their Make It Visible campaign tour. The tour included the sharing of personal lived experiences with mental health from The Lighthouse Charity representatives who have developed their careers within the construction industry. Hearing their first-hand accounts was a great opportunity for our staff to understand examples of how The Lighthouse Charity has made a significant impact during their times of personal struggle. The Lighthouse Charity is the only charity has been delivering charitable welfare and support to the construction community since 1956 and is 100% dedicated to the emotional, physical and financial wellbeing of construction workers and their families. RSE is honored to be an official company supporter of the Lighthouse Charity, with our mission to erase the stigma associated with discussing mental health and to let everyone know that there is always hope, safety, and support available. We have a trained network of Mental Health Champions across our locations who support our inhouse Occupational Health department in providing support to anyone who might need it. Should you or a loved one in the construction industry require support with your mental health, please don't hesitate in contacting the Lighthouse Charity through their 24/7 helpline: https://lnkd.in/gdSn_mi Norma Strachan

On the 23rd and 24th of September, our new 2024 cohort of graduates attended the RSE Graduate Programme launch event in Pitlochry, where they were introduced to the business and officially welcomed to the programme. RSE's ongoing commitment to investing in talent is evident with 43 graduates joining this year's graduate programme, across a range of engineering and support function roles. The 2024 cohort, based in offices across the UK, gathered at Atholl Palace Hotel & Lodges in Pitlochry for a two-day launch event to gain insights into the company and what to expect from the graduate programme modules over the next two years. On the first day of the launch, the graduates had the opportunity to network with each other and RSE senior leaders, including icebreaker activities designed to help them connect and gain an understanding of the various graduate roles. The graduates then participated in the 'Wilderness Challenge,' organised by NAE LIMITS, which involved team-based tasks including rafting down the River Tummel, building shelters, and learning wilderness survival skills. The activity was a hit with everyone, fostering communication and teamwork among the graduates. The second day of the programme launch featured presentations from senior leaders across RSE's business platforms, giving the graduates a comprehensive overview of the company, followed by a Q&A session to allow them to deepen their understanding of RSE. Additionally, the graduates were introduced to key elements of the two-year programme, including upcoming modules and the graduate mentoring scheme. The 2024 graduate programme launch successfully welcomed our new graduates to RSE and we look forward to supporting their growth and development as they advance through the programme. As part of recognising Scotland's Climate Week 2024, our O&M South team had a busy afternoon taking part in a beach clean as a way of contributing to tidying up our local areas. The team spent the afternoon litter-picking at Ayr Beach, picking up and responsibly disposing of any discarded rubbish, to prevent it from being washed out into the Firth of Clyde and harming sea life. Tidying up our coastal areas ensures everyone can enjoy the beautiful beaches Scotland has to offer and provides a safe environment for local residents and tourists alike. We can all do our bit to prevent rubbish from ending up on our beaches and avoiding plastic pollution, starting with taking your rubbish home and reducing your use of single-use plastics. Well done to all of the team involved! #ScotClimateWeek #StoriesForChange #NetZero
