🌍 Day 1 at the 2024 INTERNATIONAL QA CONFERENCE 🌍 I am honored to open this year’s conference with my keynote on “𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: 𝗥𝗲𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮-𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲!” A return to foundational thinking is essential as we navigate the complexities of quality in a data-rich world. Here are some highlights from an incredible first day: 🔹 𝗠𝗛𝗥𝗔’𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 Insights into MHRA’s latest plan highlighted priorities like clinical trials, updates on the Windsor Framework, and inspection fee changes. 🔹 𝗙𝗗𝗔 𝗥𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 A major reorganization and the FDA’s push for diversity in clinical trials were key topics, alongside initiatives in multi-regional oncology programs. 🔹 𝗔𝗜 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗲 The IT committee led a lively discussion on whether advanced AI should be validated traditionally or treated as digital twins/team members. Data quality, robust training, and continuous monitoring emerged as key takeaways. 🔹 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝗧 Key elements of QRM—assessment, control, communication, and review—were outlined. Growing reliance on IT and third-party vendors is reshaping risk management, especially for cloud migration and cybersecurity. 🔹 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 Panelists discussed regulatory shifts and ICH implementation, particularly how new policies impact clinical trial monitoring in large institutions.
