🗻 1 in 5 employers in the manufacturing industry have lost talent from their business due to poor employee health. ⚙️ Following the launch of Make UK's 2024 'Health Wellbeing in Manufacturing' research report, Manufacturing Digital discuss the key drivers behind the sector's high absence and turnover rates and the positive steps being taken by industry employers to enhance workforce wellbeing. However, a significant gap remains between the support provided and the unique needs of employees, which Christopher Brown explores. 🧵 The report reveals that health and wellbeing spend has climbed significantly within the last 3 years, with 58% of employers spending between £10k-£50k on improving their offer, up from 1 in 3. But, only 27% of employees are utilising the perks provided. 💭 “This is worrying for employers. They need to be tracking the impact and ROI of their wellbeing programme to understand its effectiveness. Companies should focus on adoption, engagement, and interaction, as well as broader metrics, like employee turnover rates for engaged and non-engaged users.
