As a business committed to creating a sustainable future, we are signed up to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). But, how do we turn this commitment into a reality? One of the many ways is through innovative approaches to improving the circularity of our projects. We recently undertook the decommissioning of two battery storage projects in Illinois, US, with a commitment to achieving a 98% waste-free process and returning the site to greenfield in a safe and efficient manner. By demonstrating the feasibility of a nearly waste-free decommissioning process and meeting our goal of recycling 98% of all materials of the project, we hope to set a precedent for sustainable practices in the industry. Recently, our in-house team in Germany got hands-on experience with our Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team during a generator exchange at a wind farm in the scenic Black Forest. Here’s a glimpse into the process: The 36-ton rotor was expertly dismounted using a 500-ton crane. Our team then conducted thorough inspections of the rotor blades, executing minor repairs on the ground to ensure optimal performance. In just two days, the Enercon E66 wind turbine was ready for commissioning, minimising downtime and maximising energy production for our customer. This visit was a vital opportunity for our back-office staff to understand the complexities and challenges of such large-scale projects. It reinforced the importance of health and safety, quality assurance, and strong, clear processes in delivering reliable renewable energy solutions. #HomeSafeEveryDay #PowerForGood #RenewableEnergy #WindPower #SustainableFuture #TeamWork #GlobalStandards

RES was once again a proud sponsor of the recent Gulgong Henry Lawson Heritage Festival, where our team members joyfully immersed themselves in the weekend celebrations. This beloved three-day festival honors the life and legacy of one of Australia’s most cherished poets and fiction writers, Henry Lawson, and pays tribute to his mother Louisa, whose belief in the power of education helped shape Henry’s remarkable career. For the RES team attending the festival, the highlight of the weekend was the opportunity to participate in the street parade on a horse drawn carriage, leading the parade of floats, vintage tractors and cars along the Gulgong High Street. The festivities included a cutting of Henry Lawson’s enormous birthday cake made by the local CWA group, and the awarding of Best Dressed winners on the day. At RES, we are deeply committed to supporting and participating in the vibrant events of our regional communities. Being a part of these festivals and celebrating with Australia’s rural heart is an essential part of our development process and what makes RES a power for good. 📷 Col Boyd Photography #PowerforGood #TeamRES #CommunityEngagement #HenryLawsonFestival #Gulgong
