We believe a strong team starts with understanding. That’s why, throughout June and July, every member of our support team – CEO Richard Lewis included – has committed to working shifts across our entire business during Back to the Floor. From pouring pints to prepping kitchens, and even fluffing up pillows in our bedrooms, we’ve been side-by-side with our fantastic frontline teams, experiencing first-hand the incredible work they do every day. It’s been a humbling and eye-opening experience for all. We’ve gained a deeper appreciation for their challenges and triumphs, built stronger communication channels, and broken down barriers between leadership and teams. This newfound understanding will be invaluable in shaping future decisions and support initiatives, and has already created a stronger sense of camaraderie within the business. At RedCat Pub Company, we're proud to showcase the recent transformation of The Nags Head in Great Missenden. This investment brings a fresh and inviting interior design, improved car park accessibility, and the rejuvenation of their striking teepee, offering a one-of-a-kind space for events, gatherings, alfresco dining, and socialising. The team has also benefitted from comprehensive service and wine training, ensuring an exceptional customer experience. This project reflects our dedication to enhancing pubs within our communities and providing our teams with the resources they need to thrive, offering a welcoming atmosphere for all.

Last week we welcomed another fabulous hire and we feel incredibly flattered that he chose us as his next career move. Federico Puglisi joins us as an Executive Chef, after a hugely successful six year tenure at Urban Pubs and Bars, where he worked alongside Miles Slade and David Peevers. Previously to Urban Pubs and Bars Fred worked at Aubaine Restaurants. We’ve been reviewing our operating structures as part of our business transformation. As a result, Fred will work closely with our Premium Dining Ops Manager, James Killick. James joined us a couple of months ago from Brunning and Price Pubs Ltd. Quite the power couple! I’ve seen some of the new menu ideas and they are stunning, to say the least. Fred, welcome onboard and we’re all looking forward to working with you.

Last week, we did something amazing at RedCat Group with The Coaching Inn Group inns which made me proud as punch to be part of the transformation of this fabulous business. David Peevers and the People Team hosted the most wonderful day for our Exec and SLT at one of our beautiful hotels, the Lion, in Boreham. The aim was get together, take us out of our comfort zones and have a LOT of fun. So…. Off with the office clobber and on with the chef whites! We wanted our Execs to build an understanding of the skill and resilience it takes to run our kitchens and deliver great food and service to our guests. And, needless to say, to have a total blast along the way. This we achieved… and some 😂🎉💯🥇 💥Cook offs and dems by our exec chefs Chris Lawrie @stuartalderton and @federicopuglisi 💥blind wine tasting sessions with Sophie Diab 💥storytelling with Alice Barriball 💥a very competitive ready steady cook competition, these guys delivering key dishes off our premium menus 💥 A stunning cocktail masterclass from Joanna Bake Engagement, understanding and empathy are all high up on my priority list, when it comes to building high performing, effective teams. That’s what this day did. Our senior teams learnt so much about exactly what it takes to deliver excellence in our pubs each day. And to have fun while we do it. The summer is off to an exciting start for us here at RedCat, with two significant additions to our Property team! Both of our new hires will hold group wide remits, across RedCat Pub Company and The Coaching Inn Group. David Roberts joins us as our new Group Property Director, from Stonegate Group, and previously to that , Co-op. David brings unrivalled experience in implementing large-scale investment plans and developing sustainable maintenance and risk strategies. David will join the newly created executive team, to help drive growth and investment opportunities within the Group, reporting into CEO Richard Lewis Bolstering our property team further, and working closely with David, is David Flynn, who joins as Head of Maintenance, from Giggling Squid. We are all excited to welcome you both to the team and are thrilled to have you on board.

Here at RedCat, we are celebrating LGBTQ Pride Month in June. It’s a great time to honour and celebrate the LGBTQ community and there will be lots of exciting events going in our pubs.  It’s important to us that everyone feels welcome in our pubs, so please come down and have a drink with us. Rainbow Cats, who are our Employee led Pride networking group, are working hard on our plans for the coming year. We’re committed to being a welcoming employer for everyone and are working hard to ensure we are exactly that. We’re supporting our pub managers and business leaders to ensure we give everyone a warm welcome, guests and team members. We’ve got plans for Reverse mentoring, further rollout of e learning modules, as well as lots more. So come as you are and be the true you!

We're thrilled to celebrate two recent pub transformations that are raising the bar in their local communities. The Wig & Mitre in Lincoln: We've lovingly restored this historic pub, preserving its charm while adding modern comfort. Revealing a stunning new look, alongside our renowned warm welcome and delicious food offerings. The Bull Inn in Barton Mills: This beloved pub has undergone a small investment, creating a stylish and inviting space for locals and visitors alike. But it's not just about the bricks and mortar! We've invested heavily in our fantastic teams, providing them with extensive service training to ensure an exceptional experience for every guest. We've also launched brand new premium dining menus, showcasing the finest seasonal produce. Both projects received fantastic local press coverage, and we hosted lively launch events featuring the Mayor of Lincoln and Chairman of Barton Mills Council pulling a celebratory first pint behind the bar! It was a joy to raise a glass with the community and share our vision for these cherished pubs. We're committed to playing a vital role in our local neighbourhood. Millie started as a part time member of the team just over 10 years ago, working her way through the management levels, to being offered General Manager in 2023. The venue is right on Chesil Beach, Dorset offering a fantastic backdrop to work or play.
