    We’re proud to spotlight Dave Beal, our Head of Business Partnering, who recently completed an inspiring and deeply personal challenge climbing Mount Kilimanjaro! At 5895m, Kilimanjaro is the highest free-standing mountain in the world, and Dave took on the 8-day Lemosho/North Circuit route for reasons that go beyond the adventure.🏔️   Dave's motivation? In 2021, he lost two important people in his life within just 7 weeks. One inspired his passion for mountain climbing, and the other gave him a unique perspective on mental health. His climb became a tribute to them both and an opportunity to raise funds for PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide, a charity close to Dave's heart.💓   After 6 ½ days of grueling ascent, Dave and his team reached the summit in -12°C temperatures, facing exhaustion, thin air, and emotional highs. His role in the group? A cheerleader, ensuring everyone reached the top together. But as Dave reflects, the true heroes were the porters, or "Wagumo" – meaning "The Strong." Their dedication and resilience were nothing short of superhuman.💥   Key takeaways from Dave’s journey: 🦾 The power of perseverance, determination, and the importance of setting ambitious goals. ⭐ A reminder that even the toughest moments of pain or hardship are temporary, leading to accomplishments that last forever. 🫂 “Pole Pole” (Slowly slowly) can be just as effective as “Haraka Haraka” (Faster faster) – one step at a time, with the right mindset and support network, we can overcome anything.   Dave’s climb is a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we challenge ourselves and ties in nicely with our Rebel way of working No. 26 - get uncomfortable.     We were looking for a way to visualise our unique approach to organising how we work and what we work on. Peerdom gave us the tools we needed to bring this to life. At Rebel we don't believe in rigid organisational charts, we think hierarchies are remnants of the past. Job titles and descriptions are focused on unrelated competencies and industry comparisons. At Rebel, we intentionally enable everyone to clarify their roles and responsibilities to increase accountability across the board, and encourage more collaboration whilst enabling our Rebels to find their purpose in what they do — all in a more efficient manner. They structure around two major groups: Operational roles (e.g. the "Green Strategy" team), and Supporting roles (e.g. "Finance", "The People" and "Legal services").
